• Exceptions: Wealthy or privileged class.
Career now?
• Not much spending of careers at one workplace.
• Work and organizations have become international.
• Diversity in workforce.
• Balance between gender and work.
• Availability of resources – better career/job choices.
• Rapid changes.
• Career planning is becoming more and more challenging.
Recent Career Related Problems:

• Not one event or choice.
• Not time limited or tied to one particular job or occupation.
• Rather, life long.
2. Working out:
• Compromises/struggles.
• Tradeoff between what a person might want and what is possible.
• Tradeoff between ideal and real.
• Continuing series of right and wrong choices.
• Costs and risks are involved.
• No perfect career path, but an optimal one.
