Operating Systems
Operating System is a type of system
software. It basically manages all the
resources of the computer. An operating
system acts as an interface between the
software and different parts of the
computer or the computer hardware. It
manages the computer’s
computational activities associated
with the hardware and provides
services for several programs.
Functions of an operating system include
file system management and security.

system secure.
Encryption
Protects sensitive data by converting it into a coded format
that can only be accessed with by decryption.
Utility Programs
1 Defragmentation is the method of reorganizing data on a storage medium, such as a hard
disk drive, for efficient storage and access. The speed and performance of a computer system
or laptop can be increased by defragmenting the hard disc.
2 A computer driver is software that tells your device how to interact with the hardware connected to it.
