Intra-B Commerce
Intra-B commerce involves interaction and transactions among
various departments and individuals within a firm use of computer
networks.
Intra-B commerce permits better coordination, helps in faster
decisions and workflows
What is intra business commerce?
Intra b-commerce refers to the business which takes place between the
people of the same firm. It may involve recruitment, selection and the
training of employees, interactions between any two departments that
belong to the same firm,

M-Commerce
Buying and selling of goods and services through wireless technology
Example:- Japan is seen as a global leader in m-commerce.
More than a third of U.S. e-commerce sales were made on a mobile device in
2017, according to e marketer Inc.
What is meant by mobile commerce?
M-commerce refers to any commercial transactions that take place
via apps or mobile sites. Mobile commerce can be understood broadly
as a subcategory of e-commerce, or as the mobile version of e-
commerce.

Collaborative (joint) commerce
Refers to selling/buying EC transactions between and among
organizations.
C-commerce implies communication, information sharing, and
collaboration, done electronically.
Example:- Large retailers, such as Wal-Mart, collaborate with their major
suppliers to conduct production and inventory planning and forecasting of
demand.

E-learning is learning utilizing electronic technologies to access
educational curriculum outside of a traditional classroom.

Business-to-Business (B2B) refers to the transactions between businesses such as,
two firms or between a manufacturer and a wholesaler.
Example:- Hewlett Packard (HP), Cisco and Dell. Cisco, for instance, receives over
90% of its product orders over the Internet.

B2B (business-to-
business)
A type of electronic commerce (e-commerce), is the exchange of
products, services or information between businesses, rather than
between businesses and consumers (B2C). A B2B operation is
conducted between two companies, such as wholesalers and online
retailers.

end consumers with products and services. It includes electronic retailing or e-tailing.
Example: - Amazon.com, Drugstore.com, Beyond.com and Clubfactory.com

Advantages of B2C Models
From the consumer’s viewpoint, advantages include:
1. Consumers can shop at any time of the day, from the privacy of their
homes or other remote locations.
2. Consumers can have access to a greater variety of goods and services on
offer.
From the business viewpoint, advantages include:
1. Business can reach worldwide market with access to more potential
customers.
2. B2C can lower transaction costs associated with sales.
3. B2C can display information, pictures and prices of products or services
without having to spend much on the advertisement.
Disadvantages of B2C Models
The disadvantages from the consumer’s viewpoint include:
1. Security issue such as credit card information is very sensitive, and
there are chances of scams and frauds.
2. Customer service is negotiated as consumers are not always satisfied
with their purchases and they often do not get timely answers to their
queries.
The disadvantages from the business viewpoint include:
1. The competition is more on the Web and the customer can go to other
sites to purchase the same product.
2. There can be technological problems due to which sales might come
down.

Customer-to-Customer (C2C).

◦ Consumer-to-consumer (C2C) is also called Peer-to-Peer (P2P) exchanges. It includes


all the transactions that happen among consumers.
◦ Consumer-to-consumer e-commerce or C2C is simply commerce between private
individuals or consumers.
◦ Consumer-to-consumer e-commerce involves the electronically-facilitated transactions
between consumers through some third party.

Business-to-government (B2G) e-commerce is concerned with the need for business


to sell goods or services to governments or government agencies.
Example: - Supplying the army, police force, hospitals and schools with products
and services.

◦ Companies are finding many ways to do business with their own employees
electronically.
◦ They also allow employees to manage their fringe benefits and take training
classes, electronically, insurance, travel packages, and tickets .
