Node Analysis
• Steps to find a current flowing in a circuit using Node Analysis
4. Solve the resulting simultaneous linear equations for the unknown node voltages.
Solution :
• Example 2: Determine the branch current by using nodal analysis.
Hence, using the nodal analysis method, we have successfully obtained the branch currents in the
given circuit.
• Example 3: Find the V1 and V2 and Determine the Current at 10Ω and 20Ω resistor.
Then,
3V2 – 2V1 = 80
10V1 = 80 + 120
10V1 = 200
V2 = 4V1 – 40
Therefore the node voltage V2 = 40 Volts
Hence the node voltages around the circuit are 20 Volts and 40 Volts.
I = V2/RI = 40/20
I = 2 Amps
I = V1/RI = 20/10
I = 2 Amps.
Problem on Supernode
• Determine the node voltages by using supernode.
There is voltage source between V1 and V2 and by supernode equation is
