Proposed Objective
• Comprehensive Understanding of Geosynthetic Materials: Investigate and analyse
different types of geosynthetic materials, with a focus on their mechanical properties,
durability, and uses in retaining wall construction.

• Design Geosynthetic Retaining Walls: Use engineering principles to satisfy stability and
strength criteria, including soil properties and load conditions, and environmental
considerations.

• Cost comparison analysis: Determine the economic viability of geosynthetic reinforced

retaining walls compared. Typical reinforced concrete walls. Consider material costs,
installation charges, maintenance, and lifespan benefits.

• Performance evaluations: valuate the performance of a geosynthetic retaining wall using

simulations or modelling. Consider factors includes deformation, stability, and efficiency.
