INTRODUCTION


Coordinated master control is the highest level of automatic control system in
power plant.


A coordinated control system develops control signal for turbine and boiler
simultaneously to meet the requirement with all auxiliary in safe operating limit.


It ensure that there is no mismatch between boiler steam generation and turbine
mw generation for long durations.

Air flow set point determined by steam flow, actual fuel and boiler master o/p
The maximum of three will be multiplied by O2 trimming factor
O2 trimming factor is generated by O2 trim PID controller
Minimum air flow set point value is 1100 t/hr
The set point determined by this will be used by PID controller for controlling air flow

BFM

When Boiler Follow mode is selected, load (MW) is controlled by turbine fairly constant & very effectively; and
the steam pressure is controlled by the boiler . Steam pressure variations are , how ever, quite significant during
the disturbances in fuel feed and unit load demand / MW output due to large delay in energy conversion from
fuel to steam pressure .


-Boiler and Turbine are independently in operation.

Boiler is following the Turbine Load.

Boiler Master controls Throttle Steam Pressure in auto.

Air & Fuel flow control in auto with cross limiting & calorific value correction.

Turbine controlling MW in Limit Pressure Mode fairly constant & very effectively.

Throttle Steam Pressure is controlled by turbine in Initial Pressure Mode fairly constant and very effectively.


Air & Fuel feed in auto with cross limiting & calorific value correction.


Boiler controls MW in auto but takes a long time to control & stabilize the load after a disturbance due to large
boiler delay in energy conversion.
