Introduction

 The aim of this project is to compare the product prices of different sellers like
Flipkart.com, Amazon.in, Ebay.in, Snapdeal.com etc.
 And return the price of products in each site which helps the customer to decide and
buy the minimum priced products.
 It also uses technologies like Web crawler, string search.
Problem Statement

 Users Access the internet and gets the information through different E- commerce
Web sites. This way approach to find data from websites is a time consuming task.
 To ease for searching information over the websites by giving search keywords requires
software. The search engine software ensures the end user to get the information by
accessing the websites that are specified in the database.
Existing Systems

 Now a days every users who use Internet wants to buy the product online and Searches for the product which costs
them less and there are many competitors in the e-commerce market for selling the product at less rate with huge
discounts.

Limitations

 According to some problems faced by customers, they can’t find the accurate prices of
the products they are very much interested in.
 They also couldn’t find even the particular products in the lists of their websites
 Also the customers wouldn’t have the time or patience to visit each vendor websites
and compare prices and specifications of their products.
Proposed System

 In the price comparison project the Web crawler will start with some seeds and will
select the pages using some filters and policies .String search is a technique to search
required keyword from the links found by the Web Crawler. In this smart search we can
store URL information along with category.
Web crawler
 A web crawler is a program which automatically traverses the web by downloading
documents and following links from page to page.
String search
 It’s a technique to search required keyword from the links found by the WebCrawler.
Applications

 Easy, convenient, variety of retailers to choose from.


 Helps customers to find lower prices by comparing products of different websites.
 Customers can search for a specific product.
 A simple, central location for comparison.
