Facial expression is vital
because it adds to the message
that you are communicating.

B. Posture
Stand straight to demonstrate your
self-assurance and confidence.

C. Gesture and Movement
Make sure to use gestures and
movements only when appropriate.

D. Voice
Your voice is the primary tool for
catching the interest of your audience,
emphasizing your main points,
stimulating reactions, and conveying
your message.

1. Articulation – refers to the act of


producing speech sound.
2. Modulation – refers to the manipulation of
the rate, pitch, and volume of the voice to
denote mood and meaning.

E. Attire
Dressing well demonstrates that you
care enough about the audience and
your speech by looking your best. What
you wear should enhance your speech
and improve your confidence and
credibility.

F. Rapport with Audience
Start to build rapport during your
speech by approaching the stage with a
confident posture and a smile. Establish
and maintain eye contact with your
audience, including those at the back
throughout your speech.

Your Midterm Exam in Oral Communication

Theme: Pandemic (Overcoming Challenges During Pandemic)
Examples: Overcoming Mental Health Crisis During Pandemic
Overcoming Challenges in Education During Pandemic
Family challenges during pandemic During Pandemic
• The Poem or the piece must be originally written by you
• You can write and present in either Filipino or English (English is a PLUS)
• Submit your performance as a video (must be a good quality, voice should be
modulated)
• Video is minimum of 2 minutes, maximum of 3 minutes.
• This will serve as your Midterm Exam in Oral Communication and Creative Writing
• Total of 100 points
• When you submit your video, you will automatically get 50points (passing grade
already)

• The three best performer will automatically get “perfect score”


• The three best performer will be chosen as your Strand’s representative in Spoken
