Authentication (MFA) in
Salesforce

Multi Factor Authentication

Multi-Factor Authentication or MFA is becoming a mandatory


requirement for all Salesforce users.

In order to use Salesforce, users must authenticate (Approve) every


time from their smartphones also along with entering Salesforce
Password.

Step 1: Download Salesforce Authenticator app on Phone

Step 1: Install Salesforce Authenticator App on


your mobile phones (available for both Android
and iPhone)

Refer to the screenshot and select the correct


‘Salesforce Authenticator’ app (with the lock sign)
from Play store

Step 2: Add your Salesforce Account on Mobile App

Step 2: Open the Salesforce Authenticator app and


Click on “Add an account”

Step 3: Get “Two Word” phase on Mobile App

Step 3: Now you will get a “Two-word” phrase on


your Mobile App

Step 4: Login to your Salesforce Account from your
Desktop/Laptop/Tablet

Step 4: Login to the Salesforce


on your Laptop/Desktop/Tablet
(if already logged in, then
logout and re-login)

Step 5: Enter “Two-word” phrase

Step 5: Enter the “Two-word”
phrase here from Salesforce
Authenticator mobile app
(as seen in the right side)

Step 6: Click on “Connect”

Step 7: Authenticate using this App

App on your Mobile Phone

Step 7: Check your Mobile


Phone. You will receive a
notification for the “Approve”
on your Salesforce
Authenticator App

Open the Salesforce


Authenticator App and click
on “Approve” quickly (within
one minute)

Step 8: Salesforce Login Done!

You will be logged into


Salesforce!

Step 9: Logout and Re-login in Salesforce

Follow the same steps every time you log in to Salesforce!

Facing any issues in Salesforce Login or MFA ?

Please Note: While doing the MFA process, do not create on “Forgot Password” unnecessarily

If face any issues related to ‘Incorrect Username and Password’, then you can click on “Forgot
Password”. The Password Reset link will be sent on your AESL Gmail ID (as available in Salesforce)

After MFA is done, you will need to click on “Approve” button only every time you log in to
Salesforce. (Do not click on “Add an Account” button on Salesforce Authenticator App)
Do not uninstall the Salesforce Authenticator App. If you change your phone or uninstall the
application, you need to create a Sapphire Ticket to get MFA again or write an email at
[email protected]
