DIVISIONS OF
SKELETAL
SYSTEM
● The Human skeleton consists of 206 named bones
● Bones of the skeleton are grouped into two
principal divisions:
Axial Skeleton
o Skull bones, auditory ossicles (ear bones), hyoid
bone, ribs, sternum (breastbone), and bones of
vertebral column.
Appendicular Skeleton
o Consists of the bones of the upper and lower limbs
(extremities), plus the bones forming girdles that
connect the limbs to the axial skeleton

CLASSIFICATION OF
RESEARCH
BONE BASED ON
SHAPE
● Long - Longer than they are wide, with a shaft and two ends.
● Short - Roughly cube-shaped, providing stability and support with
little movement.
● Flat - Thin, flattened, and often curved, providing protection and
surface area for muscle attachment.
● Irregular - Complex shapes that don’t fit into the other categories.
● Sesamoid - Small, round bones embedded in tendons, protecting
them from stress and wear.

CONCLUSIONS
Mercury is the closest planet to the Sun and
the smallest one in the Solar System—it’s
only a bit larger than the Moon. The planet’s
name has nothing to do with the liquid metal
since it was named after the Roman
messenger god, Mercury
