Processing Unit.
TECHNICAL  RAM- primary storage device

WHAT IS A MICROCOMPUTER?

Microcomputer is synonymous to a
personal computer that depends on a
microprocessor or the CPU. The CPU
serves as the brain of the computer and
it enables the device to perform its task.
Also it has ROM, RAM, and a
motherboard that helps the CPU in
processing gathered data.
WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF A COMPUTER
HAND HELD DEVICE
• It also called personal digital assistant
or PDA and it is a battery powered
computers.
• It is less powerful than desktops or
laptop.
• It is commonly used in scheduling
appointments, storing addresses and
phone numbers and even playing
games using the user’s fingers or a
stylus.
TABLET
• It is in writing notes, draw pictures on
screen using a tablet pen.
• Nowadays, tablet has been evolved and we
can now use it just like a mobile phone.
• Allow users to write notes or draw picture
on its screen using a tablet pen and convert
user’s handwriting into a typed text.
• A built-in screen that swivels and unfolds to
reveal a keyboard underneath.
LAPTOPS OR NOTEBOOKS
• The most popular commonly used
computer in today’s generation.
• Operate on batteries or with electricity and
combine the CPU, screen and keyboard in
a single case.
• Have LCD screen that can fold down if it is
not in use.
• Permit users to write their homework,
research work and term papers while
commuting on bus or train or travelling on
plane.
DESKTOP COMPUTER
• Designed ofor use at a desk or table and run with
Windows operating system designed by Microsoft
Corporation.
• Typically larger and more powerful than other types
of Microcomputers like Macintosh computer.
• It is made up of components such as system unit,
keyboard, mouse and a monitor.
• Uses- word processing, accounting, desktop
publishing, surfing the web, database management
editing photographs, creating graphics and playing
music or games.
MACINTOSH COMPUTER(MACs)
• A popular model of computer made by
Apple Company.
• Use graphical user interface (GUI) that
utilizes windows, icons and a mouse t
make it relatively easy for novices to
use the computer productively.
• Better computer for audio, video and
graphic designing and editing.
