A National wide family planning was launched
offcially in 1952 by the Union Ministry of Health and
Family Welfare. Government of India in first and
second five years plan (1951-1961) the programme
was taken up in a modesty way with a clinical
approach.

The family welfare programme has priority in india, because its success depends up on the
quality of life all citizen.

infirmity in all matters relating to reproductive system and its function and process.’’

• Breast feeding - Highly encouraged these days by 5 million births per annum
are saved...
• Raising the age for marriage - it has been raised to 21 yrs for males and 18yrs
for females...
• Mass media - Motivation through radio, tv, cinemas, news papers, puppet
shows and folk dances..
