 WHAT IS A MULTI-GRADE TEACHING?

Based on teaching situation where in a


single teacher has to take responsibility
for teaching pupils across more than one
curriculum grade within a timetable
period

No two children are alike
Similar in INTEREST , NEEDS,
CHARACTERISTICS
Different in PHYSICAL, EMOTIONAL,
MENTAL, SOCIAL
What must a multi-grade
teacher able to do in order to responds the
individual needs of a students?
Get to know and understand each of the Children.

Responsible in planning the daily activities and


keeping track of how each child is able to learn.

EXPERIENCE. CHILDREN LEARN FROM DOING

5. THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE SCHOOL
CURRICULUM MUST TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION
THE VARIED ABILITIES, LEVELS AND INTERESTS OF
A PARTICULAR GROUP.
Teacher has to adjust to the needs, interests, capabilities, and
learning styles of the children

Example: If a student is advanced in math, the teacher might offer more


challenging problems or enrichment activities to keep the student challenged,
while providing additional practice and support for those who are struggling.
6. THE VALUE OF ANY EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM WILL
BE JUDGED ACCORDING TO HOW WELL IT IS ABLE RO
ACHIEVE THE GOALS OF THE PROGRAM
• WHETHER THE CHILDREN ACTUALLY LEARN
• WHAT THEY ARE EXPECTED TO LEARN
• HOW WELL THEY HAVE LEARNED
7. THE ADVANTAGE OF BEING IN A HETEROGENEOUS
GROUP
Like a multi-grade class the children who have certain
strengths and weaknesses can be helped rather than be
punished for their weakness, and their strengths built-on
rather than wasted.
