• Any HUMAN-READABLE SEQUENCE OF
CHARACTERS that can form intelligible words(Rouse,2015)
• Are the data or information source each exercise references in
textual, numeric or similar formats.
• provides the basic information of what a person wants to
convey to others.
• A simple and flexible format of presenting information or
conveying ideas whether hand-written, printed or displayed
on-screen

1.FICTION – pertains to stories that are


IMAGINE and NOT TRUE.
2.NONFICTION –pertains to stories
that are based on FACTS and
REALITY.
WHAT IS TYPEFACE
• also called FONT,FONT TYPE,or TYPE
• Refers to the representation or style of text in the
digital format
• Usually comprised of alphabets,numbers,
punctuation marks,symbols and other special
characters.
DIFFERENT TYPE OF TYPEFACES

1.SERIF- connotes formality and readability in


large amount of text.
- usually used for the body text of
books,newspapers, magazines,and
research publication.

2. SAN SERIF
-brings a clean minimalist look at the text
-used for clear and direct meaning of text
such as
road signage,building
directory or nutrition facts in food packages.

3. SLAB SERIF
-carries solid or heavy look to text
-can be used for large advertising sign
on billboards.

-draws so much attention because of its
brush-like strokes
-must be used sparingly and not to be
used in large body text

. -caters to a wide variety of
emotions or themes.

LIMITATIONS OF TEXT INFORMATION AND
MEDIA

1. Is less memorable than other visual media


2. Requires more considerations from other
user than other media
3. Can be bulky
4. Can be lengthy and hard or tiresome to
read.
TYPE OF TEXT:

• HYPERTEXT- serve to link different electronic


documents and enable users to jump from one to other
in a nonlinear way.
• PLAINTEXT or UNFORMATTED TEXT- fixed
size characters having essentially the same type of
apperance.
• FORMATTED TEXT- appearance can be changed
using font parameters (bold,italic, underline,size,font
color,etc.)
