Minutes of A.G.M. Held on 24th August, 2023

• The Annual General Body Meeting of The Institute of Marine Engineers (I),
Pune Branch was held on 24th August, 2023, at 1800 hrs. The venue of
meeting was Torque Technics Office, Gultekdi, Pune – 411 037
• Leave of absence was granted to Vice Chairman Mr. Anant Sahasrabudhe.
• The meeting was chaired by Mr. Sanjeev D. Ogale, Chairman, Pune
Branch.
• Following members were present for the AGM:

The meeting proceedings started at 1830 hrs. Mr. Sanjeev Ogale

welcomed the members to Annual General body Meeting and
informed the members of updates on the branch activities in the
last year.
1. Adoption of minutes of last AGM
The Minutes of the Last AGM was read by Mr. Sanjeev Ogale and
Minutes were adopted

2. Annual Report
The annual report of activities of IME (I) Pune branch was
presented by Mr. Girish Kotwal.

3. Audited Accounts
The Audited accounts for the year F.Y. 2022-2023 were
presented by Mr. Mohan Joshi. The accounts were then passed
and approved by all members present.

4. Appointment of the auditors for F.Y 2023-2024

It was decided to reappoint M/s. Mayabhate Badve & Associates for the
Year 2023-2024 as Auditors for Financial Year 2022-2023, at the same
remuneration as at present.

5. Suggestions from members on the activities of the branch
Mr. Prabhakar Shidhaye suggested on the email invitations sent from
IME(I) to all members in TO and CC, instead to put all the email
addresses in BCC and send the emails, so that the members can reply
only to IME(I) email.
Mr. Sanjeev Ogale suggested to arrange technical meetings / lectures
and invite as speakers to the sailing chief engineers to share and
understand the current situation on ship.
Technical Meeting / Lectures every alternate month.
6. Vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. Sanjeev Ogale, Chairman
The meeting was thereafter adjourned by thanking the chair.

2) Technical Seminar/ Student Chapter

“Transtech 2024”
The 17th edition of the All-India Technical Seminar “Transtech 2024”
was organized by Tolani Maritime Institute (TMI), Pune & Institute of
Marine Engineers (India), Student Chapter, TMI, Pune in association
with Institute of Marine Engineers (India), Pune Branch & The
Institution of Engineers (India), Pune Local Centre from 6th
(Wednesday) to 8th (Friday) March 2024, at TMI Campus. The
technical carnival of Tolani Maritime Institute “Transtech 2024”
portraying this year's theme, ‘Revolutionizing Shipping: Trends,
Technologies, and Sustainable Development’, began on 6th March
2024 with the arrival of the Chief Guest, Dr. Vibha Dhawan, DG,
T.E.R.I., New Delhi, the Guest Speaker, Mr. Rajesh Doshi, Founder
Director, and CEO of Dwarka Kutch Ferries & Tourism Pvt Ltd., the
President of the Institute of Marine Engineers (IMEI), Mr. Rajeev
Nayyer and the Secretary, IEI-Pune, Mr. Uttam Awari, followed by the
lamp lighting ceremony and the Vandana of goddess Saraswati.

2a) Annual Meet
World Seafarers Day celebrated in Pune on Sunday, 30th
June, 2024.

On 24th June 2024 IME (I), CMMI and IMF along with
TMIAN (Tolani Alumina) held a press conference in Pune
regarding Indian Seafarers look to navigate into the future
with increased role in global shipping industry.

On Sunday 30th June more than 100 Seafarers came

together for a special program at PYC Gymkhana to mark the
‘World Seafarers Day’. The program included a talk show,
pottery workshop and a musical program. The talk show was
in line with the theme "Navigating the future: safety
first!" Efforts to create equitable environment at Sea for
Women Seafarers.

on 8th August, 2024.

principals and have requested to all the
faculties to also be member of IME(I).
Efforts continue to increase membership,
through personal and collective approach.

on 12th December, 2023 by Mr. Uma Shankar
