questions related to types of computer Introduction • A computer is an electronic machine which helps in solving problems quickly and easily. • It solves problems according to instructions given to it by the computer user • It is a digital machine that uses binary digits. Types of computer • Mainframe • Desktop • Laptop • Tablet • smartphone Types of computer • Main frame computer • These are big computers with many processing power • They have big memory storage and serve many purposes at a time • They are used in big companies • Many users can use it at a time Types of computer • Desktop computers • These are known as personal computers (PCs). • They have their components separately (keyboard, mouse, monitor, CPU). • They are difficult to move around • They are cheaper compare to laptop • They are widely used in offices • They are always connected to an external power source Types of computer • Laptop Computers • A 'laptop’ is a computer which has all its components in a single unit. • They are portable and easier to move around • They use battery and doesn’t depend totally on electric power • They can connect wirelessly to join internet Types of computer • Tablet computers • It’s like a laptop but smaller and portable. • They use touch screen technology and • are sometimes used for phone call through a SIM card.
