DASHBOARD OF MATCH STATISTICS
TOSS OUTCOME V/S MATCH OUTCOME
INSIGHTS
Distinct count of ID for each venue has been taken, color shows the details about Toss v/s
Match outcome, the marks are labeled by distinct count of ID.Here we get know through the
visual that at M Chinnaswamy Stadium the Toss winner has won the match and has the
distinct count of ID as 36 and Toss winner who lost the match has the distinct count of ID as
30 , and for representing this visual I have used Stacked Bar chart, other details can be
seen over the chart.
INSIGHTS
Here Color shows maximum of Win By Runs. Size shows maximum of Win By Runs. The marks
are labeled by Winner and maximum of Win By Runs. The data is filtered on Toss outcome v/s
match outcome, which keeps TOSS WINNER LOST and TOSS WINNER WON. We have used a
Tree map as our visual. We get to know that Mumbai Indians have max wins
by Runs with a margin of 146 and lowest is of Kochi Tuskers Kerela that is 17 runs.
BIGGEST WINS BY WICKETS

Here Color shows maximum of Win By Wickets. Size shows maximum of Win By Wickets.
The marks are labeled by maximum of Win By Wickets and Winner. The data is filtered on
Toss outcome v/s match outcome, which keeps TOSS WINNER LOST and TOSS WINNER
WON. We have used Tree Map to represent this visual from which we can understand which
teams have won by the number of wickets for e.g. Teams like Chennai Super Kings, Deccan
charges , Delhi Daredevils and many more have won by 10 wickets whereas Pune warriors
and Gujrat Lions have won by 7 wickets.
INSIGHTS
Sum of Total Runs for each Batting Team broken down by Match Id. The marks are labeled by
sum of Total Runs. The data is filtered on Match inning, which keeps 10 of 1,284 members.
Here we have used a bar chart to represent this visual and we get to know that Royal
Challengers Bangalore has scored the highest runs ie 263 on 23-04-2013 and it’s the Royal
Challengers Bangalore that have scored 227 on 12-04-16 , we are giving this insights by
taking out the top 10 teams.

Here we have used Tree Map as our Visual where Color shows sum of Batsman Runs. Size shows
sum of Batsman Runs. The marks are labeled by Batsman and sum of Batsman Runs. The data
is filtered on Date Year, which keeps 2008 which we can change accordingly The view is filtered
on Batsman, which keeps 10 of 461 members. Our insights from this visuals of 2008 is
that Gautam Gambhir has scored 534 Runs becoming the contender of ORANGE CAP in
2008 season.

Here we have used Horizontal Bar chart to represent our this visual where Distinct
count of Player Dismissed for each Bowler. The marks are labeled by distinct count of Player
Dismissed. The data is filtered on Date Year and Dismissal Kind. The Date Year filter keeps
2008 which we can change as per our requirement.. The Dismissal Kind filter keeps 10 of 10
members. The view is filtered on Bowler, which keeps 10 of 356 members. In the
year 2008 PP Chawla has taken the highest number of wickets and becoming the
contender of PURPLE CAP.
BATSMEN WHO HAVE SCORED MOST
SIXES
INSIGHTS

We have used Tree Map as our visual where Color shows details about Batsman. Size shows Sixes.
The marks are labeled by Batsman and Sixes. The data is filtered on Batting Team, Bowling Team
and Date Year. The Batting Team filter keeps 13 of 13 members. The Bowling Team filter keeps 13 of
13 members. The Date Year filter keeps 10 of 10 members. The view is filtered on Batsman, which
keeps 10 of 461 members. We get to know from here that CH Gayle has scored most number of
sixes on the entire tournament 266 followed by SK Raina 174 and RG Sharma 173.
BATSMEN SCORED MOST FOURS

Here we have used bar charts to represent our visual where Sum of Fours for each batsman.
Color shows sum of Fours. The marks are labelled by sum of Fours. The data is filtered on Date
Year, which keeps 10 of 10 members. The view is filtered on Batsman, which keeps 10 of 461 members.
Here we get to know that across all the season G Gambhir has scored the most number of Fours 484,
followed by SK Raina 401.

Here we have used bar chart to represent our visual where we have used Distinct count of Id for
each Winner. The marks are labeled by distinct count of Match Id. The data is filtered on Date
Year, which keeps 10 of 10 members. The view is filtered on Winner, which keeps 14 of 14
members. We get to know that Mumbai Indians has won 92 matches across all the season
followed by Chennai Super Kings who has won 79 matches across all the seasons.
Season wise Team performance (Loss)
INSIGHTS

Here we have used bar chart to represent our visual where Distinct count of Id for each
Losing team. The marks are labeled by distinct count of Match Id. The data is filtered on
Date Year, which keeps 2010. The view is filtered on Losing team, which excludes no
members. We get to know that Delhi Daredevils have lost the most number of matches
83 matches followed by Kings XI Punjab 78 matches.
Win % (Home v/s away)
INSIGHTS

Here we have used stacked bar chart to represent out visual where Color shows details about
Home v/s away. The marks are labeled by Win percentage. The view is filtered on Home v/s
away, which keeps Away and Home. Here we can check for different teams accordingly but I
have choosed to visualize Mumbai Indian where we get to know that on the year 2008 win %
for playing in home ground was 57 % and loosing on home ground is 43 % like wise
we can see for different years and different teams.
SEASON WISE TEAM PERFORMANCE (WIN
VS LOSS)
INSIGHTS

Here we have used Bar chart to represent our visual where the plot of sum of Win flag
for Date. Color shows sum of Win flag. The marks are labeled by Player Of Match.
Details are shown for Match Id. The data is filtered on Date Year, which keeps 10 of 10
members.
CONCLUSI
ON
▶ TILL 2017-
▶ Maximum runs are scored by SK Raina 4,584 Runs.
▶ Maximum wickets are taken by SL Malinga 114.
▶ Batsman hitting most number of 6’s is CH Gayle 266.
▶ Batsman hitting most number of 4’s is G Gambhir 484.
▶ List of top 10 batsmen who hit the most number of 4’s and 6’s are
also provided as tabulated form in the dashboard.
METHODOLOGY

• The visualization and the data analysis is done using Tableau .


• The in-content filter “Year(Date)” has been forced throughout the analysis
apart from most IPL 6’s and 4’s throughout the IPL as it is a fixed value and
doesn’t requires fetching data across the seasons played.
• Simple and detailed visualization are created , so that minimal use of legends
or parameters can be used within a glimpse of an eye, one should get the
essence of visualization.
