Input devices
Definition:
• An input device is a hardware device
used to send data to a computer .
Explanation:
• An input device allows users to communicate
and feed instructions and data to computers for
processing , displaying, storage and transmission.
• Input device helps the computer to receive
instructions from users.
• In computing , an input device allows
information to be entered into the computer
system, either from the user or another
computer.

• Light pen
• Touchpad
• Joy stick

Output devices
Definition:
• An output device is any device used to
send data from a computer to another
device or user.
Explanation:
• The output device helps the computer to
produce or display the information to the
users.
• The output is how the computer presents
the results of the process.
• Outputs can be returned to the user in
many ways such as text on a screen ,
printed materials , or as sound from a
speaker.
Examples of output devices:
• Printer
• Monitor
• Headphone
• Speaker
• Plotter
• Multimedia projector
• GPS location.
