Social science and applied social sciences are closely
related fields that share common focus on understanding
human behavior and societal dynamics. However, they
differ in their primary goals and approaches. Social
science goal is to develop theories and models that
explain social phenomena like for example sociology,
anthropology, psychology, economics , political science
and history while applied social science focus on how to
use social science knowledge to address real-world
problems and improve social conditions. It applies social
science theories and methods to sole practical problems
and implement social change like for example social
work, counseling and communication. Both fields are
essential for building a more just and equitable society.
