The textbooks were used as reference materials. In the delivery of the lessons, teachers provided self-
learning modules, learning activity sheets, and compendium of notes. Also, supplementary materials such
as video lessons, radio-based instruction, and FB Live lessons were provided to the learners.

ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT
SENIOR HIGH DEPARTMENT
S.Y. 2020-2021

The present COVID-19 pandemic has brought extraordinary challenges and has
affected the educational sectors, still, no one knows when it will end. Every country is
presently implementing plans and procedures on how to contain the virus, but the
infections are still continually rising. In the educational context, to sustain and provide
quality education despite lockdown and community quarantine, the new normal should be
taken into consideration in the planning and implementation of the “new normal
educational policy.”

COVID-19 has dramatically reshaped the way global education is delivered. Millions
of learners were affected by educational institution closures due to the pandemic, which
resulted in the largest online movement in the history of education. With this sudden shift
away from classrooms in many parts of the globe, schools had to rapidly shift to virtual and
digital strategies. Many believe that the adoption of online distance learning will persist after
pandemic. A new hybrid model of education is expected to emerge, and, given the digital
divide, new shifts in education approaches could widen equality gaps. This is one of the first
empirical studies investigating the effect of the sudden shift from face-to-face to online
distance learning due to COVID-19.
Teachers of these trying times worked closely with their professional learning
community team members and performed as volunteers to fight against the spread of the
virus which mainly caused the shift of the current educational course. Instead of thinking
for a teacher-driven face-to face discussions with lengthy lectures (these were no longer
available in this moment), self – learning modules (SLM) and other blended learning
modality were highlighted aside from online learning. With the cooperation and concerted
efforts of other stakeholders, teachers innovated and created self-learning modules or even
online video lessons to cope up with online tools and resources needed so that students
would be up for an exciting learning process.

Even with this virtual reality where up close and personal association is restricted,
teachers really find time to generally contact students during the time allocated for them on
the existing calendar and give students attainable goals. This is one thing where teachers
will be able to use technology to connect with and work with students, while motivating
them to do so is another matter.
As the teachers, parents, and students are facing a very different context now in terms
of the educational standards, this COVID-19 pandemic has forced education innovation into
the heart of almost every education system around the globe. To answer this, teachers no
longer have to focus on how to link innovations to a frontier at the heart of this
education system, but how to change education systems so that they address diversity,
support source, innovate to provide all learners the necessary skills to create a better future
for themselves and their communities.
The students must clearly see the aims of their teachers for them and must
obtain the significance of these to their lives and gratify the essence of the
philosophical ideas and create their own philosophies in life. These philosophies
will enable them to be what they want to be. These philosophies will teach,
enlighten, and guide the future generations to become productive citizens of our
country. Constant communication between parents and teachers will be essential
in making the new normal of learning work. Since they will act as facilitators in
ensuring that their children are indeed learning from the materials provided, it’s
important for parents to collaborate with teachers in meeting the learning goals of
students.

In a nutshell, the senior high school department did their best effort to
deliver quality education while bearing in mind the current situation we are in. A
lot of activities were implemented to address the needs of the learners and
parents while monitoring the learner progress and upskilling teachers’
capabilities for the 21st century. It is therefore noteworthy to look upon the
accomplishments throughout the school year.

4. Monitored the challenges encountered by teachers
on the retrieval and distribution of modules.
5. Answer queries of parents and learners.
6. Monitored the follow-up of teachers among

1. Parents’ support for the Project Sakay in the

utilization of retrieval and releasing of
modules in Maamot Extension .
2. LGUs donation of HP Ryso for the printing of
self-learning modules for the students
VI. PROBLEMS, CHALLENGES, AND SOLUTIONS

PROBLEMS/CHALLENGES

1. Some parents lack assistance in the student’s answering of

modules.
2. Working parents are not available during the distribution of
modules, with this; the learner is late in the distribution and
retrieval of modules.
3. Teachers are bombarded with so many queries from parents,
especially advisers even late hours
4. Some learners didn’t have transistor radios to be use during
RBI
5. Academically challenged learners cannot answer the
modules on the given time.
6. Some parents are the one who answer the modules, instead
of only monitoring their children.

SOLUTIONS/BEST PRACTICES

7. Equally divided number of teachers on the printing of

modules for faster reproduction.
8. Project QR, contactless distribution, and release of modules.
9. Follow-up of teachers to parents and learners with
documentation.
10. Teachers strategized learning and giving feedbacks.
