Abstract

This project proposes a comprehensive gas leakage detection system

utilizing NodeMCU, incorporating gas sensors for real-time
detection. Integrated with an auto-cut-off regulator, the system
ensures immediate gas supply cessation upon detection of leaks,
enhancing safety. It also features alerting system using GSM module,
thus enabling precise identification of leak origins for swift response
and mitigation in industrial and residential settings.

3
Introduction

• Gas leakage incidents can lead to catastrophic consequences in various

environments, necessitating reliable detection and immediate response

mechanisms.

• This project introduces a robust gas leakage detection system utilizing

NodeMCU, which integrates advanced sensors for real-time monitoring.

• The system is equipped with an auto cut-off regulator to swiftly halt gas

flow upon detection of leaks, preventing potential hazards.

Problem statement

Existing gas leakage detection systems do not efficiently integrate auto cut-
off regulation and alerting the intended user, highlighting the need for a
comprehensive solution using NodeMCU to enhance safety and response
efficacy in gas leak emergencies.

9
Aim and Objectives
Aim:
Develop a robust gas leakage detection system using NodeMCU with an
automatic cut-off regulator to halt gas flow upon detection of leaks and integrate
GSM module to alert the user.

Objectives:
• To design and configure NodeMCU to interface with gas sensors for real
time detection.
• To develop an algorithm for automatic gas flow cessation upon detection of
leaks.
• To implement GSM module and sending he message to the user.
• To validate the system performance through real world testing. 10
