1. The students must follow the rules and regulations of the college. Strict action shall be taken by the
college administration if any student violates codes of conduct in the college campus.

2. The students must always carry their college identity card with them in the college campus.
3. The students must be dressed in proper uniform as prescribed by the College Administration.
4. Those who don’t follow the proper dress code won’t be allowed to enter the college premises.
5. The students should check the college Notice Boards and websites on daily basis, to keep
themselves updated about the latest developments. Ignorance in this regard shall be of no excuse.
CODE OF CONDUCT
6.It is mandatory for every student to attend at least 75% of the theory/ practical class delivered;

otherwise he/she will not be allowed to appear in the Semester End Examination.
7.If a student is found to have fraudulently got admission in the college by submitting

wrong/incomplete information, then he/she shall be removed from the college and he/ she shall forfeit
the claim to refund of all fees and other dues paid. The college may take further action it may deem fit
against the said student and his/her guardian.
8.The students must park their vehicles in the parking space provided for them, only.
9.Ragging within the college premises is strictly prohibited. Any Student found indulging in such
practice will be subject to strict disciplinary action including expulsion from the college and moreover
he/she will be liable to pay fine.

10. Damaging college property in any way is prohibited. Any student involved in such activities shall
be liable to strict disciplinary action under rules.

11. The college is a no-smoking and plastic free zone. As such smoking and use of plastic is strictly
prohibited.
12. The students should make judicious use of natural resources like water, electricity, paper, food etc.
13. The students are advised not to litter, spit or pollute the college campus.
14. The students should be aware that they are always under CCTV surveillance.

Educational Institutions across the State. An applicant can create a Preference List, Institution wise
and course-wise.
5. A prospective student/ candidate can register on the Portal, after which the candidate will be given a
User ID and Password.
6. Student can edit (addition/alteration) preference at any point of time until the application window closes.
7. Merit list will be system generated, Institution-wise/ Course-wise and will be published on the same day.
8. The students can also see their merit positions for all the courses as applied for on their dashboards.
9. However, the student will be allotted only 01 (one) seat (higher available preference as per eligibility)
and can see the same in the dashboard.
10. An admitted applicant will get the scope of upgrading to higher level preference.
COURSE OF STUDIES
SINGLE MAJOR AND SINGLE MINOR
A student will identify one Major Course in which he/she will concentrate. Apart
from one Core Major Course he/she will have to select one Minor course. He/she
will also have to select Interdisciplinary Courses (IDC) courses, Ability
Enhancement Courses (AEC), Value Added Courses (VAC), and Skill Enhancement

Courses (SEC) from the provided pool of courses.

THREE DISCIPLINE SPECIFIC COURSES
(MULTIDISCIPLINARY)
A student will identify two Courses in which he/she will concentrate. Apart from
two Courses he/she will have to select one Minor course. He/she will also have to
select Inter-disciplinary Courses (IDC) courses, Ability Enhancement Courses
(AEC), Value Added Courses (VAC), and Skill Enhancement Courses (SEC) from the
provided pool of courses.
OUTLINES OF 4-YEAR UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAM:
a) Major Course (MAJ) (4 credits each): One/two major courses chosen from the
combination of subjects that a student is expected to imbibe in that particular
discipline. A course, which should compulsorily be studied by a candidate as a
requirement is termed as a Major Course.
b) Minor Course (MIN) (4 credits each): One Minor courses, to be chosen from

the combination of subjects, with an intention to seek exposure beyond discipline/s
of choice is called a Minor Course. The purpose of this category of these courses is

to offer the students the option to explore disciplines of interest beyond the choices
they make in Major.
c) Inter-disciplinary Courses (IDC) (3 credits each): All UG students are
required to undergo 3-introductory-level courses relating to any of the BROAD
DISCIPLINES and whose difficulty level, should not be higher than the +2 level.
Students are not allowed to choose or repeat courses already undergone at the Higher
Secondary Level (12th) class under this category. A student cannot study IDCs
from the same broad discipline.
d) Skill Enhancement Courses (SEC) (3 credits each): These courses (three in
number) may be chosen from a pool of courses designed to provide value-based and/or
skill-based knowledge and should contain both theory and Laboratory/hands-on
training/field work. The prime purpose of these courses is to provide students life-
skills in hands-on mode so as to increase their employability.
e) Internship (2 credits): A student will also have to undergo internship once either

f) Ability Enhancement Courses (AEC) (2 credits each): One papers of each of the

Ability Enhancement Courses (AEC) may be of two kinds, both pertaining to
enhancement in ability in language subjects:
a. Single Major and Single Minor course: Compulsory English to be studied in
2nd Semester and one from MIL Bengali or MIL Hindi or MIL Nepali or MIL Sanskrit
or MIL Urdu or Alternative English to be studied in the 3rd Semester.
b. Three Discipline Specific Courses (Multidisciplinary): Compulsory English to
be studied in 3rd Semester and one from MIL Bengali or MIL Hindi or MIL Nepali or
MIL Sanskrit or MIL Urdu or Alternative English to be studied in the 2nd Semester.
g) Value Added Courses (VAC) (4 credits each): These courses include courses based on
Environmental Education and Value based education:
a. Single Major and Single Minor course: Environmental Education to be studied in 1st
Semester and Understanding India to be studied in the 4th Semester.
b. Three Discipline Specific Courses (Multidisciplinary): Environmental Education to be
studied in 4th Semester and Understanding India to be studied in the 1st Semester.
h) Practical/Tutorials (One each with every Major and Minor Course): Practical means Laboratory or

field exercises in which the student has to do experiments or other practical work of two-hour duration.
Tutorial means special instructions based on the Lectures.

i) Levels of Courses: NEP Framework classifies all courses into certain levels based on the content and
level of Teaching-Learning standards adopted. While Introductory/Basic courses are taught in the
First/Second years of UG Degree programme, Core/Advanced courses are introduced at 3rd/4th years of
graduation.
The levels are:
o 100 to 199 = Foundation courses/Introductory courses
o 200 to 299 Intermediate Level courses
o 300 to 399 = Core courses/Advance courses
o 400 and above Specialization subjects
