name of the organization, or associated with the name of the product or service, nor should it be
claimed that people, products or services are certified or approved by ISO

4
All those concerned with international standards should know that the International
Organization for Standardization (ISO) does not carry out accreditation activities, evaluation
and issuance of conformity certificates, it only develops international standards, such as
ISO9001 and ISO14001, and does not participate in auditing or conformity assessment
processes, and it does not issue conformity certificates. This is implemented by external
accredited bodies to evaluate and grant conformity certificates, and therefore a company or
organization cannot be accredited by the International Organization for Standardization.

5
Since its inception in 1987, ISO 9000 has always been the most common ISO standard, and it
has the same structure as the UK standards BS 5750, with three 'models' for quality
management systems, so that the model is chosen that is based on the scope of the
organization's activities:

 ISO 9001: 1987 includes the quality assurance model in design, development, production,
installation, and service and is a special model for companies and organizations that have
included activities to develop new products.

 ISO 9002: 1987ISO includes the quality assurance model in production, installation, and
service delivery as it mainly includes the production of materials with the same ISO 9001
but does not include the creation of new products.

 ISO 9003: 1987 includes the quality assurance model in the final inspection and testing as it
includes only the final inspection of the final product, without taking into account how it
was produced.
Then the 1987 edition was revised in 1994 with the aim of emphasizing the
methodology of "preventive measures / procedures" instead of examining the
final product, and other amendments related to the documentation system.

Then version 2000 combines the three standards 9001, 9002, and 9003 into one unit, which is
9001, to highlight the "process approach",

then the 2008 version that emphasized this approach.

Finally, the publication 9001: 2015 which adopted the methodology of "risk-based thinking"
(risks and opportunities)
