VIDEO :
The word "video" comes from the Latin verb videre, which means "to see".
The word "video" is used to describe an electronic representation of a sequence of
images that simulate motion and interactivity.
It is an electronic medium that records, copies, plays back, broadcasts, and displays
moving visual media.
Videos can be recorded digitally, on DVD, or on videocassette. They can also be
short films or recordings of events made using digital technology and viewed on a
computer, especially over the internet.
A video can also be a recorded show or presentation.
A video recording is any disc, magnetic tape, or solid state recording device that
contains information that can produce one or more series of visual images
electronically and show them as a moving picture.
Elements of an effective video :
1. Video Length: Keep it short.
2. Video Script: Make your message clear.
3. Video Content: Support the script.
4. Video Format: Match the channel.
5. Video Sound: Don’t scrimp on quality.
6. Video Lighting: Even and natural.
7. Video Editing: Less is more.
8. Captions: Use them.
components of video shooting and editing:
Camera : It directly influences the picture quality. A high-quality DSLR camera is a
must to ensure exceptional picture quality.
Tripod : The tripod allows you to keep the camera steady as you shoot, which will
enable you to take smoother shots.
Lighting : It can influence the mood of your video, emphasize or de-emphasize
certain elements in the frame, add texture and color, make people look a certain
way etc.
Composition : A composition is the basic building block of the video. A typical
composition will contain multiple layers of things like video, images and
audio.
Transitions : Transitions are one of the essential parts of video editing, as they
animate the movement from video A to video B. In addition to making your
video look more fun and improving its flow, transitions also make your videos
look cinematic and professional.
Rough cut : The rough cut is the foundational step to assembling a scene and is
essential in your video editing workflow. This is where you develop and lay
out the basic structure and sequence of the edit in the timeline.
Shot : A shot is a continuous sequence of video footage captured between cuts or
edits. One section of footage can contain multiple shots if the camera shoots
continuously while reframing.
Sound : Sound and music are essential elements of video editing that can enhance
the quality and impact of your video.
Organization : Keeping your video clips and audio files in order will allow you to
quickly find the pieces you need when you need them.
