ABSTRACT
This presentation represents a Finite State Machine (FSM) model for the LandRover
FIGO, enabling a clear representation of the vehicle's behavior
during operation.

By analyzing the states and transitions, the model helps

understand and improve performance, safety, and reliability. Simulation
outcomes provide valuable insights for optimizing the Land Rover FIGO's
performance on challenging terrains, implementing advanced safety measures, and
enhancing maintenance strategies.
INTRODUCTION
The Land Rover Figo Finite State Machine (FSM) is an advanced virtual tool that
revolutionizes the development process for Land Rover engineers and designers.

Through utilizing sophisticated simulations, the FSM accelerates development timelines,

fosters collaboration, and delivers an exceptional Land Rover Figo to discerning customers.

Additionally, it reduces development costs and time-to-market for Land Rover vehicles.
Beyond efficiency gains, the FSM allows Land Rover to push the boundaries of innovation
and craftsmanship, ultimately providing a truly extraordinary driving experience for Land
Rover Figo enthusiasts.
OBJECTIVES

The objectives of the Land Rover FIGO FSM design and implementation process are as
follows:

• Review and Block Diagram.

• Finite State Machine Development.
• Simulation and Verification.
• Synthesis and Timing Analysis.
• FPGA Implementation.
METHODOLOGY
• Review the given design specifications and create a block diagram representing the FSM model
with inputs, outputs, and structure.
• Develop the FSM based on specifications, choosing Mealy or Moore model as needed for the
Land Rover FIGO control system.
• Write Verilog HDL code for the FSM, ensuring accurate implementation and interaction with
other components.
• Simulate the FSM design with test cases to verify its functionality under different inputs and state
transitions.
• Synthesize the FSM design to meet timing constraints and optimize performance.
• Implement the FSM on the targeted FPGA for effective control of the Land Rover FIGO system.
IMPLEMENTATION
• Requirements Gathering: Understand Land Rover's control system specifications.
• Architecture Design: Create a high-level block diagram.
• Module Design: Write Verilog/VHDL code for functional modules.
• Testbench: Develop a comprehensive testbench.
• Simulation: Verify module behavior.
• Synthesis: Convert code to gate-level netlist.
• Optimization: Enhance performance and area utilization.
• Place and Route: Map netlist to FPGA.
• Post-Implementation Verification: Re-run simulations.
• Waveform Analysis: Check signal behavior.
• Functional Testing: Deploy on FPGA hardware.
• Integration & Testing: Verify overall performance.
• Documentation: Document the process and results.
ARCHITECTURE
• Define states representing vehicle modes (idle, accelerating, braking, turning).
• Describe transitions triggered by inputs (sensors, user commands).
• Identify input signals (sensor readings, user commands).
• Determine output signals (actuator control, displays).
• Develop control logic for state evaluation and output generation.
• Optionally, use memory elements for state storage.
• Test, validate, and optimize the architecture.
• Integrate with the vehicle's control system.
• Document the FSM with diagrams and flowcharts.
