What is Suggestion?
Suggest means to propose a plan.

(menunjukkan sebuah rencana)

Suggest means to present a suggestion


(recommendation) that is to introduce an idea
or a plan for consideration.
The suggestion can be accepted or
refused.
Solution, advice, plan or idea.
(Bisa diterima/tidak)
There are some suggestion expresions, they are:

• Asking Suggestion
• Giving Suggestion
• Accepting Suggestion
• Declining Suggestion
• Asking Suggestion
• What should I do?
• Do you have any idea?
• Do you have any suggestion for me?
• Will you give me some suggestion, please?
• Can you tell me what should I do?
2. Giving suggestion
• You should....
• You need to....
• I think you should....
• I suggest you to....
• Maybe you should....
Example

Jeckie : Chen, I had headache from last night. What shoul I do?
Chen : OMG. You should go to the doctor as soon as possible.
3. Accepting Suggestion
• I think you are right.
• I agree with you.
• That a good idea.
• That's right.
• Thanks. I will try your suggestion.
4. Declining Suggestion
• No. I don't think so.
• I disagree with you.
• That's not a good idea.
• I understand, but I think....
Example

Lena : Budi, I'd like to study in a university, but i'm worried I


can pass the entering test.
Budi : Why not joining me for preparing the test in university?
Lena : I don't think so because I don't have enough money for that.
Offer is giving something to someone in a form of food, money,
solution, and so on. It can be taken or refused.
Example :
Ø Can I help you?
Ø Shall I bring you some tea?
Ø Would you like a piece of cake?
Ø How about I help you with this?
Ø Can I clean the table for you?
Ø Shall I help you with your homework?
Offer is giving something to someone in a form of food, money,
solution, and so on. It can be taken or refused.

Sarah : Oh no, my PPT is so boring.


I think I don't have enough time to beautify it.
Halen : May I help you? I can handle it right now.
Sarah : That's very kind of you. Thank you.
