1. ABSTRACT

• Due to the rapid growth of technology the usage & utilization of

CNC machine in industries are increased The fabrication of low
cost CNC machine is used to reduce cost and complexity of
machine.
• This paper deals with the design of automatic mini CNC machine
for machining wood plastic, foam and soft metals. The I den
behind our project is to design and drill PCB based on low cost
CNC system the lower cost is achieved by incorporating features of
PC with ARDUINO UNO controller in an arduin key Words: CNC,
Arduino controller, G code.
2. INTRODUCTION

• CNC means Computer Numerical Control. A Computer Numerical

Control (CNC) is the automation of machine tools by which we can
draw/cut different type of letter, picture, shape. Provided by a
computer using softwares into it's controller.
• The code used to program CNC machines is generically called G-
code. However, G-code instructions are only part of the
programming language. Specifically, G-codes give CNC machines
the coordinates
3. PROBLEM DEFINATION

A problem that can arise with 3 axis CNC machines is the accuracy and precision of the cuts
produced. Even the slightest error in the machine's movements can result in parts that do
not fit together properly or have rough edges, which can lead to product defects or
failures. This can be particularly problematic in industries that require high levels of
precision, such as aerospace or medical device manufacturing. Another challenge with 3
axis CNC machines is the setup and programming process. Setting up the machine can be
time-consuming and require specialized knowledge, and programming the machine to
perform a specific task can be complex and require a high level of skill. Additionally,
changes to the design or specifications of a part may require reprogramming the machine,
which can add time and cost to the manufacturing process. Finally, 3 axis CNC machines can
be expensive to acquire and maintain, which may make them prohibitive for some
businesses or individuals. The cost of the machine itself, as well as the cost of replacement
parts and maintenance, can be significant.
4. LITREATURE REVIEW

• A CNC machine is a motorized maneuverable tool and often a

motorized maneuverable platform, which are both controlled by a
computer, according to specific input instructions.
• Instructions are delivered to a CNC machine in the form of a
sequential program of machine control instructions such as G-code
and M-code, and then executed.
• The program can be written by a person or, far more often,
generated by graphical computer-aided design (CAD) or computer-
aided manufacturing (CAM) software.
• CNC offers greatly increased productivity over non-computerized
machining for repetitive production, where the machine must be
manually controlled (e.g. using devices such as hand wheels or
levers) or mechanically controlled by pre-fabricated pattern
guides (see pantograph mill).
• However, these advantages come at significant cost in terms of
both capital expenditure and job setup time.
• For some prototyping and small batch jobs, a good machine
operator can have parts finished to a high standard whilst a cnc
workflow is still in setup.
5. METHODOLOGY

This is our proposed methodology in making.

• Step 1:The Design
• Step 2: Material selection
• Step 3: The Y-assembly
• Step 4: The X-assembly
• Step 5: Z-block Assembly
• Step 6: Assemble All Hardware
• Step 7: Motor drivers and Wiring
• Step 8: Flashing the Arduino
• Step 9: Testing
• Step 10: Finishing
6. CURRENT STATUS

• We have completed our Literature Review of the topic.

• Design is in the final stage.
• Material/Component required were selected.
7. COST CAP

• We have estimated
overall costing of
around 16,000/-
Expense chart
