REPORT AND CONCLUSION

 Introduction:
A task of carrying out a survey on ‘Vaccination Campaign’ was assigned to me
for my Project work in English, Term-2 internal assessment 2021-22.
After the first wave of Covid-19 hit the nation the government took
initiative to vaccinate maximum population to protect it from the disease
and decrease the chances of spreading of this disease.
This survey was carried out in some areas of the city in between May 2020
and August 2021. Total 69 families were contacted in this survey.
Following are the findings of this research-
REPORT
 After facing the first and second wave of Corona-19, the people were panicky but after
the government launched the vaccination drive on 16 th Jan. 2021 they became aware of
the need of getting vaccination to protect from this disease.
 According to the data collected it was found that about 80 percent people of the city
have been vaccinated out of which 35 per cent people have taken both the doses of
the vaccine. About 35 per cent of the youngster aged above 18 have also been
vaccinated where as about 20 per cent are waiting for their turn to get the second
dose of vaccine. 45 per cent people between the age group 50-75 have taken both the
doses of the vaccine. It shows that aged population is more aware of the need of
vaccination. according to a reliable source India has fully vaccinated 75 crore of its 94.5
crore adult population.
 During the first wave of the pandemic in my neighbourhood 5 persons succumbed to
this disease and about 60 who were infected successfully recovered after following
home isolation and treatment. Those who lost their lives were under treatment in
various hospitals and had more than 80 per cent lung infections.
 Some people who got vaccination complained of mild fever and body ache while some
others have no side effects after receiving dose of vaccination.
REPORT CONTINUES……..
 The factor which brought most of the people to the vaccination center was the awareness
campaign run on the social media by the government and NGOs. Many of them were self
motivated but a large population in slum areas is afraid of side effects like infertility
after vaccination. it has badly hampered the success of this vaccination campaign.
 The level of awareness amongst the people rose after the second wave was under control
in the month of July 21. Long ques can be seen in front of the vaccination centers to get
vaccine. It shows that people now are more aware and are willing to protect themselves
against Covid disease.
 Some people expressed their dissatisfaction at the limited number of vaccination centers
in the city whereas many want vaccination camps everyday to save time and crowd at the
centers.
 To conclude it can be stated that the government’s efforts and the dedication of the front
line health workers have played an effective role in making this vaccination campaign a
grand success and it can give wonderful results it the number of vaccination centers is
increased in cities and villages.
 Making it compulsory for getting advantage of many welfare schemes can also add
momentum to this campaign.

Reflections
Working on this project was really an enriching experience as it
offered to me an opportunity to visit and interact with various
people and know their problems, opinions and views on this
topic.

I also realized that collecting data based on the questionnaire

prepared us to see at an issue with open eyes and suggest some
solution which can be of some use.
This experience will definitely help me in whatever field I work
and give me more confidence in future.
