Root Words are the basic words to which affixes (prefixes and suffixes) are added to form

the new word.

The ideal way to use root words is to produce multiple words based on the same root.

Also, you can use the root word to infer the meaning of the word. Many English root words are

common Latin and Greek roots and knowing them can help you understand many English

Suffixes are word parts added at the end of the root word to change the

meaning of that word. There are suffixes that came from foreign origin.

We borrowed these to form a new word. We need to learn the meaning of

these foreign words as we modify the words using these suffixes. From

these meaning, we can now form base words into new words using the

foreign origin
