Responsibilities of a Class Teacher
1. Know your students:
a. Get the student name list
b. Tally with MIS keeping in mind the spelling and order of the students

2. Maintain attendance records:


a. Maintain attendance register
b. Take attendance in attendance register
c. Mark attendance in the MIS each day before 9:30 am.
d. Attendance register needs to be completed and submitted by the 5 th of every month and submitted to Ajay sir.
e. In case of late arrival, the student is marked present (both in attendance register and MIS) only if
he/she is in the campus by 11:00 am.
3. Classroom duties:
It is the responsibility of the class teacher to:
a. look into the sitting arrangement of the students
b. assigning duties to the leaders
c. monitor the class display
d. maintain stock of class essentials (chalk, duster, markers, notebooks, etc.)
e. maintain student information/data
f. provide time table to the students
g. maintain Respect tracker
4. Dinning Hall duties:
a. The class teacher is supposed to accompany the students to the dinning
hall for breakfast and make sure that discipline is maintained at all times.
b. The class teacher is to sit with their respective classes during breakfast
and lunch.

5. SS Period:
a. The class teacher is expected to engage the students during the SS Period
b. This time can be utilized by the teacher for class display, service learning,
or other activities as and when required
c. The SS Period is usually utilized by the class teacher to build connection
with the students, resolving class issues, conducting CCE for absentees, etc.

6. Absentee Tracker:
a. The class teacher is expected to keep track of the student absenteeism
b. In case the student is absent for 3 or more consecutive days, fill in the
details of the absent student in the referral form, get it signed by the
supervisor and submit to the SSD for necessary action
7. Medical form/ Referral form:
a. In case of medical support needed by the student, the teacher needs to fill in the referral form and
send the student to the medical room along with the form.
b. In case the class teacher is not present, the subject teacher is expected to do the same.

8. Assembly:
a. The class teacher needs to accompany the students for assembly and maintain discipline
b. In case the class is to conduct the assembly, it is the class teacher’s duty to make sure the
class is prepared and conducts the assembly as per the school expectation.
c. In case of special assemblies, the teacher needs to supervise the class preparation for
smooth conduction of the assembly.

9. QCT:
a. The class teacher along with a support teacher is to facilitate the quality circle time in
their respective classes once a week.
B. She is expected to prepare the QCT plan and resources as per the
planning schedule allotted to her.
10. Writing remarks for the students (Term-1 and Term-2):
a. The class teacher needs to record the students’ progress and write
remarks for them after each term.
b. The Term -2 remarks should mention the student progression from Term-1
c. The remarks should always highlight their strengths with a note for their areas of
improvement with a recommended solution.

11.PTM:
a. The class teacher should clearly communicate about the student’s progress
with the parent
b. She should try and understand the problems faced by the child back at home
and try to provide a feasible solution to it.
c. Report card needs to be handed over only to the parents. It should not be
given to relatives, grandparents or their siblings.
d. Parents concerns are to be noted and forwarded
e. Parent signatures on the PTM sheet are to be taken.
12. Co-Scholastic record entry in MIS:
a. The class teacher needs to enter the co-scholastic records in the MIS for each
student for each term. It comprises of 10 parameters and each parameter
needs to be filled for each student.

13. Requisition for classroom requirements including the books and notebooks:
a. The class teacher is responsible for giving all the requisitions for the books and
notebooks for each subject in the beginning of the session and even during
the session as and when required.
b. The subject teachers need to inform the class teacher for subject specific
requirements like extra notebooks, geometry box etc.

14. Maintaining Discipline Tracker:


a. The class teacher appoints the leaders to maintain the discipline tracker in the absence of the class
teacher.
b. Subject teachers need to inform the appointed discipline in-charges/ class teacher about in-disciplinary
behaviour of the students during their period.
c. Monitor student behaviour through Respect Tracker.
15. Golden student:
a. It is the responsibility of the class teacher to mark the golden student by 31 st of each month in MIS
b. The class teacher needs to select the golden student after discussion with the subject and co-curricular
teachers.
c. A minimum number of votes required to be selected as the golden student is 3. In case of 2 or more
students or clash, the class teacher takes the call to select the golden student for the month.

16. Service learning:


a. The class teacher along with the co –teacher facilitates the service learning for
their respective class.
b. She along with the students come up with a plan for service learning process and
execution.

17. Counselling and mentoring reference:


a. In case of any academic or behavioural issues of the students, the class teacher needs to identify and
refer the student to the counsellor keeping supervisor in the loop.
b. The class teacher needs to maintain the confidentiality of the sensitive issues and the students involved
at all times.
