Time allotted=4Hr
Project 1 : Share Land information on the Website
In this project the trainee expected to display the data in the database using
ASP. Net page. The trainee also expected to insert, display, edit and delete
data in the database using ASP. Net data bound controls and establish
connection to database using Data source controls.
Instruction: In this task the trainee is expected to create the following two tables
using SQL server which will be manipulated using ASP. Net pages.
Task 1: Prepare database for website.
Activity 1: Create database in Local Disk D with
name "Land_OwnerDB".
Activity 2: In Land_OwnerDB database, create the
first table with name "Owner" and the
second with "Parcel" .
Activity 3: Insert the below given data to the two
tables respectively.

Task 2: Creating ASP. Net Website to share data in the
database.

In this task the trainee is expected to create


ASP. Net website to display data in the
database. Use as data source SQL Server to
establish Connection to ASP. Net web page.
Activity1: Create connection between your
website and database (both tables) to display,
insert, update and delete data in the database.
Activity 2: Register Owner detail given below in the Owner table.

Activity 3: Using ASP. Net delete Owner with ID "OW/005/14" from Owner
table in both database.
Activity 4: In the Parcel table assign "P0005" which has no owner for
OW/006/14 Owner.
Project Two: Spatial Analysis and Cadastral map
preparation
Instruction: Create a folder named “Assessment” under D and perform the following.

Task1: Here you are requested to prepare a New Road development project in your
city/Town. The city management asked you to come with detail assessment
Report. Use the data named as “Parcel_road” in D:/Assesement/Parcel_Road.

Activity1: What is the total number of parcel in your project area.

Activity2: Total number of parcels affected by the project.

Activity3: The government decided to pay 7500 Birr/Sqm as a compensation for the
evictees. Calculate the individuals’ share and total budget with another
table.

Activity4: The government still want the existing situation of affected properties by photo.
Show their respective photos.
Task2: Cadastral map preparation
Instruction: Create a File Geodatabase named ”Cadastre” in folder
“Assessment” under D.
Activity1: Create a Feature Data Set named ”MyNeighbour” under which cadastral
features like(Region=“OR”, City=“001”, Kebele=“02”......etc.)

Activity2: Bring the parcel and road data from “D:/Assesement/Parcel_Road” to your
Feature Data Set.

Activity3: Design Two blocks using road data as reference and assign code for each blocks
keeping the standard.

Activity4: Assign the UPIN for each parcel and prepare a map layout with full marginal
information.
Task3: Create surface using Topographic data.
Instruction: Use D:\Training Data\Point Data\
GPS.xls.
Activity 1: Create a TIN and classify it into 3.
Activity2: Label the ranges as Very suitable, Moderately suitable and
unsuitable based on the result
Activity 3: Show the out put in ArcScene and exaggerate it by value
10.
Activity 4: Save the project as “3D” in your folder.
Project Three: Spatial Project Planning
Instruction : In this project you are going to design a project plan for
Spatial Information system service. Use the proper
application software.
Task 1: Assume you are leading an adjudication project in your city. The
financing organization requested you the detail proposal with the following
Tasks and the duration of project is assigned to be 40 working days.
1) Public awareness
2) Field and Office authentication
3) Adjudication certification and result post
4) Registration certification
Activity 1: Select the proper application software to perform the above task.
Activity 2: List out the major Activities under each Tasks listed in Activity 1.
Activity 3: List out the major Resources to execute the project.
Activity 4: Assign the time line and show it with Gantt chart.
Activity 5: Save the plan in your working folder as “Action Plan”
