TAG QUESTIONS

Tag questions are small questions at the end of a sentence.


They are used to ask for confirmation.
They mean:
“Do you agree?” or “Is it right?”
To form tag questions you use NEGATIVE for affirmative
sentences.
It’s a beautiful day, Isn’t it?
And AFFIRMATIVE for negative sentences.
You didn’t go to the party, Did you?
You have to use auxiliaries according to the verb tense.

Verb to be You are my friend, Aren’t you?


She is beautiful, Isn’t she?
My horse isn’t winning, Is it?
Simple present She Doesn’t play tennis, Does she?
They like sushi, Don’t they?
Simple past You did your homework, Didn’t you?
Simple future He will come, Won’t he?
Present perfect She has watched the movie, Hasn’t she?
We have seen it before, Haven’t we?
ETC.
