What is a Modifier
A modifier is a word, phrase or clause that describes, defines or give additional
information about something by making its meaning more specific.
Modifiers usually come in the form of an adjective or an adverb.

Voices
The voice in verbs tell whether the subject acts or is acted upon.
• Active Voice- This occurs when the subject performs the action
• The dog bites the boy.
• Western sculpture often imitate African tribal masks.
• Passive Voice- This occurs when the subject is acted upon. The subject becomes the object
in the passive voice.
• The person or thing doing the action usually in a phrase that begins with the word “by.”
