MATHEMATICAL

INVESTIGATION
STRATEGY
A mathematical investigation is an exploratory process
where individuals delve into mathematical concepts,
problems, or patterns to deepen their understanding and
make new discoveries.
ANGLES
What Is an Angle?

An angle is the space between two straight lines which

come together at a common endpoint called a vertex.
In this lesson, you are expected
to:
Describes and illustrates different angles( RIght, Acute, and
obtuse) using models.
Ray
Is a part of line that has one endpoint
and goes in only one direction.

When two rays meet at a common

endpoints,angles were formed.

The common endpoint, Point A is

called the vertex.

Angles can be classified according to R
its measure.

An angles that forms a square corner is a

Right angle. It is measure 90 degrees

A
M
An angles less than a right angle A
is an acute angle . it is measure
less than 90 degrees

C
B
An angles greater than a right R
angle is an obtuse angle . it is
measure more than 90 degrees
but less than 180 degree

LEARNING TASK 2:

Draw the following angles.

1. KLG- acute angle

LEARNING TASK 3:

Investigate the problem

1.Sarah is drawing a picture of a house. She wants to add a flag on top of
the house. The flagpole should form a right angle with the ground. If
Sarah draws the flagpole at an angle of 45 degrees from the ground,
how many more degrees does she need to rotate it to make it a right
angle?

2. Mark wants to draw a triangle on a piece of paper. He wants one of the

angles in the triangle to be an acute angle. He has already drawn one angle
measuring 60 degrees. How many more degrees does he need to add to
make it an acute triangle?
