Month.
January: The first month of the year, named after the Roman god
Janus, known for new beginnings and transitions. January marks
the start of the calendar year in many cultures.
February: The second month of the year, named after the Latin
word "februarius," meaning purification. It is also the shortest
month, with 28 days in common years and 29 days in leap years.
March: The third month of the year, named after Mars, the Roman
god of war. It is associated with growth, renewal, and the
equinox, when day and night are of equal length.
• April: The fourth month of the year, its name possibly derived
from the Latin word "aperire," meaning to open, referring to
the opening of buds and flowers in spring.
• May: The fifth month of the year, named after Maia, the Roman
goddess of fertility and spring. It is also known for May Day
celebrations, Labor Day (in many countries), and Mother's Day.
• June: The sixth month of the year, named after Juno, the Roman
goddess of marriage and childbirth. June marks the beginning
of summer in the northern hemisphere and winter in the
southern hemisphere.
• July: The seventh month of the year, named after Julius
Caesar, who reformed the Roman calendar and introduced the
Julian calendar, which is the basis of the modern Gregorian
calendar.
November: The eleventh month of the year, named from the Latin word
"novem," meaning nine, as it was originally the ninth month in the
Roman calendar. November marks the transition from autumn to winter
in the northern hemisphere and from spring to summer in the southern
hemisphere.
December: The twelfth and final month of the year, its name derived
from the Latin word "decem," meaning ten, as it was originally the
tenth month in the Roman calendar. December marks the beginning of
winter in the northern hemisphere and summer in the southern
hemisphere.
