Computer science

presentation
Good morning Everyone. Today, we are going to present on the topic of
Introduction to Computer memory. My name is Hassan Raza, and Iam
joined by my team members, Tayyab, Raza and Shoaib.
Agnda of our presentation

 Let’s start with a quick overview of the

structure of our presentation. We will begin by
introducing the concept of computer memory,
followed by an exploration of different types
of computer memory. Then, we will discuss
the memory hierarchy and it’s importance in
computing systems. Finally, we will conclude
with a summary of key points covered.
Introduction

Computer memory plays a crucial role

in the world of computing. It is
responsible for storing and retrieving
data that our computer use to perform
various tasks.
Types of Computer memory.

Now, let’s dive into the different types

of Computer memory. We have two
main categories: Primary and
Secondary memory.
Primary memory

Primary Memory also known as main

memory or internal memory, refers to the
computer’s primary storage that is directly
accessible to cpu . It is used to store data
and instructions that cpu needs to access
quickly during program execution. Its
types includes SRam and Dram.
Secondary memory.

 Secondary memory also known as external

memory which is different from from the
main memory of a computer system. It is
used to store data and instructions that are
not actively accessed by the processor. In
secondary memory your data stays safe when
the computer turns off . Its example includes
hard disks , CDS and DvDs.
Memory hierarchy

Memory hierarchy refers to the

organization of memory in a computer
system with different levels of
memory with its own characteristics.
Memory hierarchy in action

Now let's explore how memory hierarchy

functions within computer system. Data
flows between different memory levels
based on principle of data locality,
where frequently accessed data is
stored in faster memory levels.
Memory levels that Incudes in hierarchy

1.Ram
2.ROM
3. CACHE
Conclusion

Inconclusion, computer system

memory is a vital component of any
computing system. we discussed the
importance of primary and secondary
memory, memory hierarchy and how
these elements work together to
optimize data.
