SAFETY HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENT INTRODUTION
It is important to know about the safety inductive points as to prevent the accidents taken in
the site. Labors at the site should be taken extra care. Therefore it is important to know some
points as follows:
• Fire protection, lifting, welding and gas cutting etc. Train all personnel in work-site
safety and operating procedure either on site or at a training facility.
• Identify and mark any hazardous materials
• Inspect equipment to be sure it is working properly.
• Use harness and other safety equipment while working at heights ,Provide personal
protective equipment to all employees, including hard hats, safety goggles, boots,
• Work gloves, ear plugs and face masks. Protect the public by barricading the
construction site during work hours after working hours, lock
• All points of entry. All vehicles shall be provided with reverse horns.
• Warning sign boards like men at work, deep excavation, go slow etc. shall be displayed at
work area
• The speed of vehicles plying in the work area shall be restricted to 15kmph maximum.
• It night work is to be carried out; the area shall be sufficiently provided with lighting
11
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Safety
12
ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT & MONITORING
• No workmen below 14 years or above 65 years
of age shall be engaged for a job. Child labor is
strictly prohibited.
• Eye protective equipment was used by the
labors engaged in activities such as welding,
chipping and other jobs that require eye
protection.
• Hand gloves were worn while handling sharp
articles, hot material, corrosive chemical,
welding, cutting etc. Adequate illumination at
workplace was ensured before starting the job
at night.
• All scaffoldings/ work platform was made
strong enough to take the expected load.
• All Machine and tools were inspected before
use. Defects were reported immediately to Store
manager

WEEK 2-3

EXCAVATION
• BEFORE THE EXCAVATION WORK LEVELLING AND
MARKING IS DONE WHERE EXCAVATION IS REQUIRE.
METHODOLOGY
• Shrubs\Herbs and debris are removing from the area
of excavation.
• The marking area to be excavated is done including
working space
• Dewatering arrangements is made available at location.
• The level is recorded jointly with client and
contractor.
• The excavated soil is deposed to designated area for
stacking
15
PCC FOR RAFT/FOOTING
• After the excavation the pcc of raft or footing
is done where as pcc is plane cement
concrete.
• the base of the pcc is checked and ensures
that there are no loose pockets, slush or water
logging
• The top surface is checked to ensure that levels
are reached the founding depth as per drawing
and it is jointly recorded.
16
CONCRETING OF FOOTING WATERPROOFING OF FOOTING
17
FORMWORK OF COLUMN
• Shuttering of the column after the
reinforcement of columns is done above the
footing
• Shuttering oil is applying during shuttering.
18
CURING OF COLUMN
Curing compounds are used to help prevent shrinkage cracking by
reducing the evaporation of water from the Concrete.
19
FORMWORK & CONCRETING FOR RETAINING WALL
IS code: IS: 456-2000, IS: 4990-1993, IS: 14687
Providing, fabricating and erecting from work at all levels and place where Ever needed specified as per
drawing, including striking/ de shuttering with Peri Duos or 12mm thick film coated Ply board shuttering
with drop head type adjustable steel props to full height without joints and with sufficient bracing.

WEEK 3-4

Reduced level (RL) of slab
Reduced level (RL) is a surveying term that refers to the vertical distance between a survey point and a
datum plane. The datum plane is an assumed level surface or line that is used as a reference to calculate
the level of other lines or surfaces

Bar bending
Bar bending work is the process of cutting and bending reinforcement steel into shapes for
structural elements like beams, slabs, columns, and footings. A bar bending schedule (BBS) is a
tabular representation of the reinforcement bars used in construction, which includes details such as
the bar type, length, weight, and desired bending shape
24
Quality assurance and Quality check
Pneumatic concrete vibrators
use air to remove trapped bubbles from concrete surfaces, making them more solid and durable. They
are used in construction to remove excess moisture and air pockets from freshly poured concrete,
which results in a safer, more attractive, and uniform finish.
CONCLUSION:
• We got the opportunity to learn the role and responsibility of site engineer,
quality assurance and quality check, work sequence format.
