Rhythm Pizza
Learning whole note, half note, quarter note, dotted half
note, eighth note patterns through a yummy pizza model
The Whole note Pizza
• A WHOLE NOTE HAS 4
BEATS IN IT.
• The meaning of ‘Whole’
is ‘Full’. Similarly, a full
Pizza is also a whole
pizza.
• A ‘Whole note’ is also
called a ‘Semibreve’
• We beat out a whole note
Lets cut the Pizza in HALF!
• A HALF NOTE HAS 2 BEATS IN
IT.
• When we cut the Pizza in to two
equal pieces, we get 2 halves. So
when we break a hole note into 2
equal pieces we get a half note in
each piece.
• A ‘Half note’ is also called a ‘Minim’
• We beat out a half note like this:

• A QUARTER NOTE HAS 1
BEATS IN IT.
• When we cut the Pizza in to 4 equal
pieces, we get 4 QUARTERS. So
when we break a hole note into 4

‘Crotchet’
