1. King’s deep family roots in the African-American Baptist church shaped his
values and commitment to social justice.

end of racial segregation on public buses in Montgomery, Alabama.
4. His house was firebombed, and he faced numerous threats during this
campaign.
5. King delivered his iconic “I Have a Dream” speech during the March on
Washington for Jobs and Freedom. This event brought attention to civil rights
issues and contributed to the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
Accomplishments
Martin’s speech changed the world forever. When Martin said his speech to the
250,000 black and white people in front of him, it touched their hearts. People from
around the world decided to stop racism and live in peace both black and white
united.
