DECLARATION
DANIEL BRHANE,i am student of Adigrat
university department of architecture, have been
working in EMMAUS consulting architects and
engineers as intern from DEC. 15, 2016 to FEB 5,
2016 . During this period of internship I have
participated and worked in different projects and
tasks fulfilling all required criteria. All things I have
included in this report truly express my internship
experience with appropriate details.

• First and foremost, i would like to express my profound gratitude to EMMAUS CONSULTING ARCHITECTS
AND ENGINEERS for providing me this incredible opportunity. The experience i gained throughout our
internship program has been truly valuable. Under the guidance of my seniors and consultants, i managed to
acquire a wealth of knowledge and skills. This exceptional learning environment has contributed significantly to
my personal and professional growth. I have seen what architecture means in reality. And i have learned so many
new skills like punctuality, consistency, patience, team work, work ethic, discipline and so many more. I want to
thank ADIGRAT UNIVERSITY too for preparing this program in order for us to know, experience and practice
what we have been learning in class.

Software application
• During the internship period, the office's chief architect utilized a variety of software to
ensure efficient and cutting-edge designs. The office mostly uses AUTOCAD this due
to the clients the want a constructional drawing. Sometime we use ARCHICAD AND
LUMION.
ORGANIZATION STRUCTURE
• The office is organized by a group of people
who Works on different tasks one is the
architect and The manager of the office and
there are following Office workers who
perform different tasks,Structural, electrical,
sanitary, mechanical and drafter.
• Our office uses freelancers for electrical,
sanitary, mechanical to work for the office.
Work flow
AGREEMENT
SURVEY
• First step is agreement with client and soil test
will be held. Then the architect will do the ARCHITECT
preliminary design to show to the clients when
they reach an agreement the drafter will do the DRAFTER
drafting and return back to the architect. When

the architect finalized the design structure, ARCHITECT
sanitary, electrical designs will be done.

• This project is owned by AYTE G.TSADIK W.YESUS BAHRU , it is a hotel design which is G+4. It will be builed in
mekelle around in Ayder
This project is owned by W.RO ASMAYT NEGASI , it is a hotel design which is G+4. It will be built in mekelle around in

RESIDENCE
PROJECT 1
In this project, I had the privilege of
working on a residential design For our
esteemed client, AYTE GEBREMICAEL
BERHE. The primary task Involved
creating a visually stunning render to
showcase the Final design of the
residence.Located in adiha coroconchi.

In this project, I had the privilege of working on a

HOTEL PROJECT 3
• OWNER AYTE MUZE AMARE GEBREANANYA
and it located in mekelle,(AYDER). it`s function
is for commercial activities and hotel.
• In this project I used autocad, sketchup and
lumion for rendering.

OVERALL BENEFITS
The internship integrates classroom education with practical experience, which narrows the gap between the academic learning process and the
practical reality. It allowed us to apply knowledge learned in the classroom to the workplace, also engaged me in service activities providing hands on
experience that enhanced my understanding. Theoretically in terms of personal development, I gained an understanding of the skills and knowledge
required in the workplace. Like decision making skills, critical thinking skills, giving opinions, increased confidence and self-esteem.

Some of the challenges we faced and also positive experiences we gained
CHALLENGE
• Designing without having awareness about

the site
• Expecting us to fully understand and
navigate a certain design from a mid-way
• Not being able to contact directly with clients
• Failing to update us on design changes
• Meeting deadlines
OPPORTUNITY
• Meeting and connecting with new
peoples
• We have practically experienced
how we work as architect for real life
so it will not be new for us when we
graduate.
• Practicality we increased our social
communication so in the future we will
not have trouble communicating with
clients.
CONCLUSION AND RECCOMONDATION
On the whole, this internship was a useful
experience. I have gained new knowledge, skills and
met new people. There is still a lot to learn and to
improve. My stay has contributed to my
communication skills, but I would like to pay more
attention to it in the future. The internship was also
good to find out what my strengths and weaknesses
are. This helped me to define what skills and
knowledge I have to improve in the coming time. . I
must say that it was a wonderful experience in every
way. It gave me a new vision for my work.
MY RECOMMENDATION;
• I would like to recommend that it’s better to include interns in
every design process. So we can understand each and every
process clearly.
• Architectural offices should be able to understand that an
intern is still a student and are there to specifically practice.
• Consultants should minimize work load and guide their
trainee's instead. • It’s better if consultants supervise and
oversee the intern’s activities and performance.
• In my opinion it’s good if consultants encourage interns to
learn new software's other than what they actually can.
• Other point is that i would like to recommend that intern’s
should also participate meetings with clients.
