"DING ANG BATOOO!"
GAME MECHANICS
Get one piece of paper in the box. Some paper
contains a specific word.
The teacher will flash a picture. You need to look
closely to the picture.
If you think that you've got the correct answer
to the given picture, then you have to prepare
to shout "DARNA" once the teacher shouts
"Ding ang bato!
If you fail to shout "DARNA" eventhough you
are holding the right answer, you will therefore
need to perform a special task.

Define the elements of a short story.


Appreciate the importance of elements of a
short story by creating original ending of the
story through story line.
Perform the plot of the short story entitled
"Footnote to Youth" by Jose Garcia Villa.
SHORT STORY

- it is short fictional prose narrative that


is shorter than novel and usually deals
with only a few characters.
The elements of a short story are:
• SETTING
• CHARACTER
• PLOT
• CONFLICT
• THEME
• POINT OF
VIEW
SETTING
It is a place or time
where the story
takes place.
CHARACTER
- are the persons in the story.
There are 2 types character:
• Protagonist
• Antagonist
PLOT
- is a series of events in the
story.
Five parts of a plot:
• Exposition
• Rising Action
• Climax
• Falling Action
• Denouement
CONFLICT

- any problems that a


character encounters in a
story.
4 Types of Conflict

THEME
- is considered as the author's
message to the readers.
Mother's love is unconditional.
Faith is 'being there' at all odds.

- the narrator participates and
tells the story using the pronouns

- the narrator narrates the story using
a god-like position.
