OF NURSING EDUCATION

IN THE PHILIPPINES

OUTLINE
The profile of Indonesian Nursing Diploma III graduates is as a nurse implementing nursing care for
individuals, families, and special groups in clinical and community settings who have the ability to
fulfill basic human needs which include aspects of bio, psycho, social, cultural, and spiritual
condition in health, illness and emergencies based on knowledge and nursing technology by
upholding the ethical code of nurses. Nursing education at the Diploma III level is organized by the
College College with the aim of producing Associate Nursing Experts.
The curriculum for the Nursing Study Program is determined by referring to the KKNI Curriculum referring to
the 2016 Indonesian Nurses Education (AIPNI) core curriculum.
The curriculum for the Undergraduate Nursing Program is determined by referring to 80% of the core
curriculum, namely 118 credits out of 144 credits, including 8 credits for general compulsory courses , 2
credits of English, and 4 credits of thesis, with a study period of 4 years (8 semesters).
After the workshop on adding the independent campus curriculum, the institutional curriculum added a
number of courses/credits so that there were only 147 credits/147+ ≤ 10 elective credits taken inside/outside
the study program/faculty.
80% of the core curriculum, namely 113 credits out of 147 credits, distributed over 13 credits of general
compulsory courses from the university (MKWU) consisting of 3 credits of Pancasila, 2 credits of leadership,
2 credits of defending the country, 2 credits of philosophy of science and logic, Language Indonesian 2 credits,
Entrepreneurship 4 credits (plus 1 credit for field practice), English in Nursing PLU 21 credits.
The Bachelor of Nursing Study Program has a formulation of graduate learning outcomes that includes knowledge, attitudes,
and skills that are used as a reference in the development of other national education standards that refer to the description of
learning outcomes of IQF graduates and have equivalent qualification levels at IQF, namely Level 7.
Clinical Nurse (Ners)
A Nurse profession program (NP) is continuation of academic phase focused in clinical practice.
It means, in this stage will be implemented in 36 Semester creadits (reffering to PERKEMENDIKBUD RI Number 49 Year 2004
about SNPT article 17 paragraph 2 point e and AIPNI’s curiculum in 7 level of achievement).
Nurse Professional Program is stage of the profession adaptation process to recieve delegation authority step by step to
implemented professional Nursing care, provide health education to carry out client advocacy functions, make legal and ethical
decisions and use the latest research results related to nursing profession is a requirement to become a professional nurse, so
the Nurse Professional Program becomes mandatory for students who have completed undergraduate nursing education,
educational institutions as education providers are responsible for graduates to facilitate and graduate up to the nurse
professional education.

Nurse Educator (S2)
The Master of Nursing Education Program is an academic education program at the strata 2
level. This Study Program is intended for Bachelor of Nursing graduates who have taken the
Nursing education program. In this program students must attend the academic stage of
education for 4 semesters
The curriculum is prepared based on the KKNI (Qualifications Framework National Indonesia)
or IQF (Indonesia Qualification Network) level 8
Throughout its development, educational program The Master of Nursing Science has several
specialties, namely: 1) Leadership and Nursing Management, 2) Community Nursing, 3)
Maternity Nursing, 4) Medical Surgical Nursing, 5) Psychiatric Nursing, and 6) Pediatric
Nursing, 6)Nursing Education
The number of credits that must be taken by students to complete the Masters Program is equivalent to 49 credits,
consisting of 37 credits of lectures and practicum (20 credits of Basic Compulsory Courses, 13 Credits of
Specialization Compulsory Subjects, 4 Credits of Effective/Elective Courses) and a thesis 12 credits.

NURSING SPECIALIST
The Advanced Nursing Department focuses on educating nurses who have the qualifications of KKNI 9
(Deepening and expanding science and technology, multi-transdisciplinary research).
The total number of credits is 46
Expert Nurse (S3)
Types of Nursing Study A four-year bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) degree also results in the RN
Degrees in the Philippines ➡ designation
Total Credits For Each Level At Cebu Normal University, especially in the bachelor of science in nursing
Of Education ➡ program, there are 199 total credits for 8 semesters
For The Masters Program At College Nursing Of CNU The Total Number Of
Credits For The MSN (Master Of Science In Nursing With Thesis) And Master
In Nursing (MN-non thesis) Degree Is 36 Credits
For the Doctoral Program at College Nursing Of CNU total credit score for the
degree Doctor Of Science In Nursing (DScN) The Major in: Gerontology
Nursing (GN) is 57 credits
