INTRODUCTION
When a school offers a program for their college department, it goes through a lot of process, it takes
time just to make sure it will fit to the trend. One of the things they consider is the student's
preference of what they will offer. Taking the right program or college course to your desired jobs is
a must, it will make your job hunting much easier because you have the credentials to be rightfully
hired. This study is about the preferences of Grade 12 students in programs offered by Unida
Christian Colleges. In Unida Christian Colleges, they offer a wide variety of programs from
education, business management, they also offer technology courses. This study will collect, analyze
and evaluate why a certain college program from Unida Christian Colleges is most preferred by the
grade 12 students in Barangay Bayan Luma 7. This study will help not only the students, but also the
school to know what are the preferred college programs by incoming college students, it will help
the school to grow its population by offering college programs that neighboring areas prefer.
According to Melone (2014) the decision of picking a college program is also hard for the students;
with this study, it will help them to know what their preferred college program when they are still at
senior high school; it will give them an advantage to know what they want to pursue and making
them a lot more aligned with what path they should be at their life.
• The respondents in this study were the Grade 12 students of Barangay Bayan Luma 7 Imus City
Cavite.
• The survey's responses provided information to help the researchers assess which of Unida
Christian Colleges' college programs are preferred by students Grade 12 of Barangay Bayan Luma
7.
• Barangay Bayan Luma 7 is close to Unida Christian Colleges, this allowed the researchers to
determine what courses the grade 12 students in the nearby barangays prefer.
PROCEDURE
The researchers prepared a letter of request to conduct the study. Afterwards, the researchers
constructed their questionnaire, and it was checked by their research adviser. Once those are done,
the researchers proceed to have their instrument validated. Once accomplished and as soon as the
Brgy. Capt. of Bayan Luma 7 has given his approval, the researchers will begin to distribute the
survey questionnaires to selected Grade 12 students of Bayan Luma 7. The researcher explains to the
respondents the significance of their response to the study. In order for the respondents to complete
the questionnaire with a full understanding of their role as the study's subject, the researcher explains
a few terms to them. The researchers asked respondents to answer completely and with full honesty.
Once the respondents finished the survey, the researchers collected and tallied their answers. The
researchers got help from statisticians to figure out the best ways to understand the information.
Then, the researchers will use the data to make conclusions and suggestions for study.
DATA ANALYSIS
This study will use a Frequency table to distribute the choices of
respondents and Chi-square to determine the significant difference in
the preferences of the informants in terms of sex. Frequency table is
perfect for this kind of study because it is easier for the readers to see
and comprehend what is the most preferred college program. Chi-square
test has the formula needed to see the significant difference in the
preferences of the informants in terms of sex.
