🞆 I would like to thank my Professor Dr. Prasannanshu who helped in successfully
completing this project in every way possible as you was the one who guided me
throughout the process as to what the questionnaire should consist of, how to
represent the data efficiently in the project as to make the best possible result out
of it.

🞆 I also wish to convey my appreciation to my family and friends for their


consistent help and support during these challenging times. In terms of
establishing a conducive research environment for students, even in an entirely
online setting, the institution has been highly accommodating and student-
centric. It has demonstrated a clear understanding of potential challenges and
ensured that students face no obstacles in the research process. I have
endeavoured to present my work to the best of my abilities. It was a privilege to
conduct research on a subject with the potential to reform a system and benefit 2

humanity.

METHODOLOGY
🞆 The methodology I applied is in basic sense the following of guidelines I was given by
Professor Prasannanshu as he asked me to create a google form with the which had to be
circulated widely to collect data from various kind of students from various institutes.

🞆 Creating a google form is not a problem or any herculean task but the efforts you have to put
in to bring the data are enormous as you have to literally beg the other person to spend 1
minute of his busy life schedule (which is busy just for that 1 minute) to fill your form which
is the backbone of the survey.

🞆 So anyhow the process I followed is creating a form and then to collect data from all the
people I know and to ask them to share the form further , the collection of data is the one of
the most difficult work in this project but it is worth it as now I can proudly say that my data
on which my survey stands is true and genuine to its core.

🞆 The form that consisted of the questionnaire was the one which was discussed with the Prof.
and only with help of him I was able to efficiently ask such questions which helped in the
best way possible to complete this survey .

🞆 I looked for the things that students in common took up as barriers resulting into a pattern
which showed me the way to question and answer the intricacies of the topic and to suggest

the best way possible to resolve out the barriers faced by students in their communications
with their seniors.
Have you ever encountered language barriers when communicating with
peers or seniors who speak a different native language than you?

From the graph above we can extract data which should be taken seriously as the data that
has been collected comes from the very professional education offering institutes which give
education majorly in English with some having the classes for developing one’s language so
even then we are having a 42% of students who face communication problem with seniors
due to language this should be taken high care of by the institute itself and the seniors
should try to communicate with their juniors in the language they are familiar and
comfortable in , and on the part of the institution the institution should organise classes on
developing different languages in students because they will profit them not only in the
college interactions but also professional interactions too.

Does Gender barrier become a problem in communicating
with them?

The primary reason for this graph being so can be attributed to the different forms of upbringing
the students have grown in, different social setting as the ones feeling gender as a barrier have
majorly gone to only boys/ girls schools which makes that group insecure and in a sort of unrelated
to the other gender.

🞆 There are less number of students for sure claiming that
there exists discrimination on the grounds of caste and
religion but the number even now is something of
substance till now.

CONCLUSION
🞆 My study has led me to knowing certain barriers faced by students while communicating with their seniors
and along with this I also came to know by discussions and reading other things the possible reasons for such
different kinds of barriers. The above knowledge of barriers and their reasons was joined by the solutions to
the barriers which were inferred from the suggestions that I got from my data itself
.
🞆 To substantiate the point made above I would like to present that I have collected data form over. To
substantiate the point made above I would like to present that I have collected data form over 30 colleges all
being of importance to our nature. To name a few from every category I would take pride in presenting;
Miranda School, NMIMS, IIT Delhi, NFSU Delhi branch, NLU Delhi, NALSAR Hyderabad, Symbiosis Law
School Pune, Rajasthan University and many others.

🞆 Some of the recommendations that I have for the improvement in the communication my survey is
concerned with are as follows :-

🞆 ; the seniors should try to be humble so that the juniors don’t feel inferior to the them resulting in a
constructive communication.

🞆 ; the seniors should try be the first step takers in order to make the juniors comfortable to the place and
situation.

🞆 ; there should be informal interactions led by the seniors which help in the familiarisation process of the
junior students.

🞆 ; sensitization of the students should be taken seriously that they don’t make hurtful actions towards other 9
students intentionally or unintentionally.
