Sketch a Center Diameter Circle

Create a new sketch on the new


construction plane
Use a center diameter circle, click on the
origin and draw a circle 160mm in
diameter
Create a loft
Change
profile 1 from
connected to
Direction

Click on,
Create,
Loft

Click on the front of the torch (profile 1)


and the circle (profile 2)
Create a Sketch
Create a new
sketch on the
highlighted
plane

Complete the
following sketch using
the line and dimension
tools. Then fillet the
corners of the sketch
to round them off.
Create a Sketch

Create a new sketch on the top face of the


torch. Then using the Ellipse tool draw a
ellipse on the black dot 30mm x 20mm
Create a Sweep
Click Create, Sweep. Then select the ellipse
as the profile and the lines as the path. Make
sure the operation is set to join.
Shell a Body

Click Modify, Shell.


Click on the front face of
the torch, the change the
Inside thickness to
2mm . Notice the torch
has been shelled out.
Activating Components
Click on inspect,
section analysis

Select the plane going down the middle of


the torch

Make sure you activate the top


component by clicking on the white
circle
Create a Sketch
Create a new sketch on the plane highlighted
below. Complete the following sketch using
the line and 3 point arc tool.
Create a Revolve

Click Create, Revolve. Then


Select the sketch as the profile
(highlighted) The axis is the
line running through the centre
of the sketch. Notice the
profile is revolved by 360
degrees.
Shell a Body

Click Modify, Shell. Then


shell out the newly revolved
body by a inside thickness of
2mm
Split a Body

In the Browser, Go into Click Modify, Split Body. Then


the Case Component, Select the hollowed body as the

Creating Components
Glass

Rename the new components by double


clicking on each one individually. Rename
them Glass and Reflector

In the Browser open the


Bodies folder, then right click

circle – Then create a new component
named Lightbulb

Create a sphere of a diameter
of 40mm by selecting the
origin

Moving a Body

Click on,
Modify,
Move/Copy

Click on the sphere and use the


arrows to position/move it to a
better place

Now try adding appearances and rendering your torch.
