How to Transfer Data
Firstly we need to look at connection methods… What do you think these are?
Ethernet cable is something that will connect your electronic device (computer, tablet,
gaming console, etc.) to a network, which, in turn, will allow you to have internet
access
Wi-Fi is the name of a wireless networking technology that uses radio waves to
provide wireless high-speed Internet and network connections
A dongle is basically a very little modem with the ability to connect to wireless or
mobile broadband the same as the broadband on your smartphone. When you plug a
dongle into a computer, your computer is essentially connected to a modem and can
get online.
NFC stands for Near Field Communication. Essentially, it's a way for your phone to
interact with something within a radius of about 4 cm and provides a wireless
connection between your device and another. This allows you quickly share various files
with other mobile devices, make payments via services like Google Pay

Data
It can be ‘airdropped’

For example, you can’t buy a painting and then use copies of it for a book cover, or buy a CD and use a track from
it in a film. To use something protected by copyright you must either:
• agree a licence with the owner to use it
• buy or acquire the copyright
For example, you may have posted a video on Facebook with copyrighted material (music) and seen this sign:
Can you think of another constraints on the use
and transfer of information?

Devices and Systems in a Contact Centre
Think about what devices and systems you may need to
become familiar with when working in a contact centre.
Share your ideas as a group.
What challenges can you think of in returning to work in Add your thoughts to the storm board
an office, or in working from home? https://stormboard.com/invite/1584063/rope5683
How might those challenges be overcome?
Discuss how the idea of this progression in technology within call centres makes you feel. Do you see it as positive
and exciting? Or does it make you nervous? How can you adapt and make it work for you, if it makes your nervous?
