The document discusses food chains and energy transfer between organisms in an ecosystem. It provides examples of common plants and animals in a rainforest, including coconut palms, mango trees, deer and monkeys. It defines key terms like herbivore, carnivore and omnivore, and explains how energy flows from producers like plants through consumers. Sample food chains from a rainforest and mangrove swamp are presented.
