Abstract

This project mainly focuses on different ways to enhance the efficiency performance of a

100kW grid Connected photovoltaic system through the implementation of mppt

algorithm . This project presents the detailed study on the integration of a DC-DC boost

converter with maximum power point tracking capabilities using a Simulation model

By enhancing the efficiency of grid-connected PV systems, this project contributes to

sustainable energy generation and efficient ways for reducing dependence on

conventional energy sources.

Literature Survey
1 . "Design and analysis of a DC-DC boost converter for PV applications" (Araújo & Oliveira, 2016):
Summary:- This source is like a case study where they show how to connect a group of solar panels to the
electricity grid using a computer program called Simulink. It helps us learn how to set up solar panels in a
way that they work with the grid.

2. "A comprehensive review of MPPT techniques for photovoltaic power system" (Wang & Sun,
2015):
•Summary:- This source compares different ways to make solar panels work their best, especially when
they're connected to the electrical grid. It helps us understand which method is best for grid-connected solar
panels..

3. "MATLAB-based modeling to study the effects of partial shading on PV array characteristics"

(Patel, Agarwal, & Patel, 2008):
Summary:- This is like using a computer program called MATLAB to understand what happens to solar
panels when some parts are in the shade. It helps us figure out how to make solar panels work better, even
when they're partially shaded.

4. "MATLAB/Simulink-based study of photovoltaic cells/modules/arrays and their experimental

verification" (Jain, Garg, & Agarwal, 2013):
•Summary:-Demonstrates the use of MATLAB/Simulink for modeling and simulating PV components,
emphasizing the importance of accurate modeling for PV system optimization.
Objectives
1.To design and model a 100kW Photovoltaic array integrated with the electrical grid using Simulink

2. Integrate a Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) algorithm using mppt, specifically "PO + Proportional

Integral Regulator," to maximize PV array performance.

3. Implement a DC-DC boost converter within the model to efficiently convert PV power for grid connection

4. Analyze simulation results to assess the MPPT algorithm's effectiveness in optimizing power generation and

system efficiency.

5.And to identify the ways to optimize mppt for more efficiency using some advanced control strategies like fuzzy

logic
