Bearning Lesson

This document provides information about bearings and estimating angles. It defines a bearing as a measure of direction taken from North in clockwise degrees. It includes examples of computing compass directions and bearings between locations. There are also practice problems for estimating angles within 30 seconds and computing bearings between points on diagrams. The goal is for students to understand what bearings are and be able to measure them.

The Rules of the game!
An angle will appear on the screen, your job is
to estimate the size of the angle. The winner is
the person who gets the most points. Hint
• All angles are a multiple of 5.
• If you guess the angle exactly right give
yourself 3 points.
• If you are 5° out give yourself 2 point.
• If you are 10° out give yourself 1 point.
• You will have 30 seconds to guess – then the
answer will come up.
