MAIN HYDRAULIC POWER SYSTEM
1. PRESSURIZED RESERVOIR – A reservoir inside which the oil is separated from the air by
using a rubber membrane, energized by a spring which provides pressurization to the oil.
2. OIL LEVEL SENSOR – An oil level sensor used in case of circuit fluid fast leakage
automatically provides a remote indication of reservoir fluid level through three microswitches.
LOW 1 LEVEL microswitch (50%)
LOW 2 LEVEL microswitch (28%)
MIN LEVEL microswitch (22%)
3. VISUAL OIL LEVEL INDICATOR – A visual oil level indicator located at the back of reservoir.
4. PRESSURE RELIEF / BLEEDING VALVE – Located on the top side of the reservoir; pressure
within the reservoir is not exceeding a safe limit.
5. TEMPERATURE SENSOR – Installed on the reservoir suction line.
6. PRESSURE and RETURN FILTER ASSEMBLY ( 6a -6b) – to provide filtration of the
hydraulic fluid.
7. FILTER CLOGGED INDICATOR (7a -7b) – Two filter clogged indicators for each filter.
8. RETURN FILTER BYPASS VALVE – Only the return filter has bypass valve.
9. FLIGHT CONTROLS CIRCUIT SHUT-OFF VALVE SOV (9a) – used to isolate the flight
controls hydraulic circuit and connects the pressure lines to the reservoir. 18

9. UTILITY CIRCUIT SHUT-OFF VALVE UTIL SOV (9b) – used to isolate the utilities circuits
and connects the pressure lines to the reservoir. (there is no manual control of this valve)
10. PRESSURE SYSTEM RELIEF VALVE – used to protect the circuit by limiting the pressure in
case of failure of the pump compensator.
11. PRSSURE SENSOR – provides the pressure continuous read-out to the MFD.
12. PRESSURE SWITCHES OUTLET (12a – 12b) – The pressure switches in PCM 2 and on in PCM 1
are installed on each pump pressure inlet.
12. PRESSURE SWITCHES (12c – 12d) – Two pressure switches in PCM1 and PCM2 installed on
each pressure circuit outlet (flight controls and utilities).
13. FLOW RESTRICTOR – used to discharge on the return line the pressure trapped in the ground
equipment pressure line after maintenance operation.
14. RETURN SHUTTLE-VALVE – used to connect the helicopter hydraulic circuit to the ground
equipment reservoir, by passing the PCM reservoir.
15. RETURN BY-PASS VALVE – used as a safety device in the event of a return shuttle valve
seizure in maintenance position.
16. CHECK VALVES (16a, 16b, 17a, 17b, 18, 19a, 19b, 20a, 20b) – Nine check valves used to
control hydraulic flow.
21. CASE DRAIN DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE INDICATORS (21a – 21b) – used to monitor
the flow from the pump to the PCM return line.
22. TEMPERATURE OIL SENSOR and SWITCHES – installed on the reservoir suction line.
